Quick Question (probably sounds stupid)
If you get yourself a place on the live shows, but don't win, are you allowed to audition again next year? For example, Kimberly got put out in the first live show. Will she be allowed to audition for the show again next year? Or will she not be allowed?

Thats a very good question.
I suppose it'd be unfair if say, Rhydian auditioned again, not that he'd need to. But Kimberley didnt really get a chance so maybe. |

Exactly. I don't think people like Niki or Same Difference would have to audition again, because they would probably automatically be put right through to the live shows which wouldn't be fair on the other auditionees. Maybe the people who got eliminated at the Judges Homes would get a second chance though?

I don't know if it's specifically forbidden, but I think the producers would probably boot them out anyway as they have had their chance.

I don't think anyone who gets to the live shows is allowed to audition again. They are if they get to the judges home though. Hope we see the lovely Dominic and Stephanie next year.

I've never heard of anybody wanting to do this but i don't see why you would. The audience clearly didn't take to you and i doubt the judges would take the risk.

Well in Kimberlys case, she basically got screwed. Loads of people missed her performance and it was really badly done.

Wasn't Chenai a failed auditionee from a previous series?

Chenai reached Boot Camp in 2004 and the live shows in 2005. So far no-one has reached the live shows twice, which I suppose is fair.

I know American Idol means anyone who gets to the semi-finals (when the public gets to vote) doesn't get to enter again. So it's probably the same, anyone who gets to the live shows doesn't get to enter again - before that and it's fair game.

I don't think the judges would want any of the same people that made the final 12 this year in next year's final 12. It wouldn't be fresh. They've had their chance.

That lad from One True Voice audtioned for (I think) the first X Factor and they didn't put him through. I remember thinking at the time that it was a bit strange that they'd raved about him all through Popstars The Rivals but then didn't put him through in X Factor, but I suppose in cases like that there are other things to consider.

None of this gets us any clearer about what the rules are.
![]() Maybe they haven't got a rule about it. Maybe it hasn't occured to them that someone would. |
