Unscheduled Follow on Recordings

The first time this happened I thought"just a glitch". Now it's done it again.
Set up to record with AR & SL. All showed OK in the schedule. However, on both occasions it has recorded the following program (unscheduled) too but has named it the same as the first. The programs were both on ITV1.
Anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions on what has caused this and how to stop it happening?

What were the programmes each time and what did it record?

If you were to schedule something to record on ITV1 now... will you get the programme after recorded... try it now...

I had it earlier this week. Cannot remember the day or other activity (I never turn it off except crash recovery, and don't think I was present at the time - ruling out playback and USB transfer).

Specifically, Countdown, C4, 15:25-16:15 is set as a series.
On this occasion another entry called Countdown was present. When played it showed Deal Or No Deal.

Yeah I had this earlier this week too. I cannot remeber which one though, but was BBC1 so could of been Eastenders or Holby city.
old6x What programe did it happen on as perhaps it could of been the same?

I have just noticed that the EPG, say on BBC2, ITV and CH4... channels that usually have full SR programmes are now full of 'holes' - i.e. programmes that are just 'normal' - I guess one offs...

Maybe with the run up to Xmas programmes are deviating from the normal schedule so much that FP metadata is not available or inaccurate or are getting mis-assigned... dunno....

Na as you say, just one-offs. No point in attaching series data to a one-off, hence the normal EPG background colour. That's been normal but less frequent - we'll see quite a bit for a couple of weeks though.
Interestingly, I set the ITV2 panto's yesterday, and they came up with the series option. I assume it would have recorded them all from one event but I set them individually.

Three-way clash with duplicates
Slightly OT, I also twice went to set some recordings via EPG, and was informed of a three-way clash. The clash list showed two copies of the same programme previously set with series enabled (Top Gear and Casualty). So I unchecked and rechecked those in the EPG and the clashing programmes then set OK.

Yes we have seen something similar but it happens so rarely that I haven't yet seen a pattern.

Thanks for all replies. Seems I'm not alone. The first time it happened also started with being informed as a three way clash. Although I cleared it, it duplicated the name of one program (BBC1) but had actually recorded the following program. I can't remember the full details at it was a week or so ago but it was not SL.

The current situation was (no clash) Loose Women was recorded (SL) and the library showed it twice but in fact the later one followed on with the news. Both were ITV1. Times shown were concurrent

I have tried to duplicate this but without success. I'm now putting it down to teething probs with SL and hopefully it will go away. It's anoying more than anything as at least so far I've not missed any recording, quite the opposite in fact!
