Make your own sushi

seriously folks, it's dead easy. it just take a little practice and its a great alternative for sandwiches in packed lunches.

the ingredients produced by Yutaka (nori sheets, mirin, rice wine vinegar, sushi rice) seem to be decent value and are available in supermarkets

my favourite filling: smoked salmon, salad or spring onions (are they the same thing?) and cucumber, with no wasabi involved at all.

of course, if you're not a fish person, no need to use salmon, perhaps swap in some carrots. although i've never tried it, omelette strips are seemingly a popular option too.

I love sushi too. Healthy too.

I agree make your own, the prices charged by outlets and supermarkets are simply ridiculous. You can buy the nori sheets and stuff quite cheaply in chinese supermarkets too.

May I suggest garnishing the sushi with either a strawberry, a cherry, a lemon or a lime? It might sound a bit unusual, but I thought that my idea would be a useful contribution nonetheless!
