Simob Cowell to sue iTunes over Leon sales delays?

After Rhydian Robert's well deserved Leon Jackson's stunning X-Factor victory, customers overwhelmed iTunes' UK servers. After just 36-thousand sales, the servers died and were down for a good 15 hours. Sony BMG insiders were not pleased. The Sun, the occasionally reliable UK news source, writes that Simon Cowell is considering legal action against iTunes over the (according to one insider) "monumental cock up".

The single will probably sell several hundred thousand copies by the end of the week through both electronic (like iTunes) and physical channels.

If you click on the link it shows that Rhydians name was scored out Why would that be there in the first place? And why have they left it like that??

I think they're trying to imply that Leon didn't deserve to win, which is correct.

Lol there's no way Simon will sue as he won't want any more publicity re-emphasising how bad Leon's sales actually are

Tend to agree, although he WILL use it as a convenient excuse, I suppose. That's if he says anything at all (I know he's on holiday but even so.)

Outselling the rest of the top ten is bad?

It is about 200,000 down on Leona's single... but Leona's single sold 200,000 less than Shayne's did and it hasn't stopped her going on to be more successful than him.

The first single will always sell, it's about what they follow it up with.

Incorrect. Its 270,000 down on Leona. (and Leona only sold 170,000 less than Shayne)

We don't know what Leon's Week 1 sales will be yet, but its estimated to be more than 300,000. Remember Friday and Saturday sees another peak in sales as people do their shopping.

It will emphasise the lack of interest or perhaps the furore which has ensued since.

Where is this estimate? I can't see him shifting more than 300k - that's 60k Friday and 60k Saturday - based on the 60k he shifted on Thursday.

Anyway, more importantly, Leon's sales are 47% down on Leona's; Leona's were only 23% down (i.e. half of Leon's drop) on Shayne's.

Leon deserved to win because he had the most votes. Simple.

I understand what you mean. However he won because he got more votes not because he deserved to win.

60% of viewers voted for Leon so of course he deserved to win! The majority did not want Rhydian to win and that's a fact.

Don't forget that not every viewer will bother voting in the first place, and a lot of people couldn't get through for all three acts. Based on that, I don't think it's particularly representative to talk about minorities and majorities as if they're definite facts as we can't say with any authority exactly how many people in the UK wanted each act to win.

Just what I was going to ask. All we have been told as far as I know is that the break down of VOTES was 55% to 45%. We have no figures or % for the actual VOTERS, never mind the % of VIEWERS.
