I don't think so. I am really excited about the Dr Who xmas special. Am sure it will be fab and will be one heck of a rollercoaster ride.

I'm not expecting much because:

1. Xmas specials are usually lame

and

2. RTD wrote it

It's just good to have a dose of the doctor.

Don't worry he'll leave, one day and Steve Moffat will take over.

Whenever I see the decals "by Russell T Davies" on screen I lower my expectations so much they hit the centre of the earth.

Let's hope it's soon, he is refusing to confirm any involvment in series 5.

Same here, he's a great producer but rubbish writer.

I'm expecting another Xmas episode where they've spent more money on the orchestra than the script and I spend a pleasant hour listening to the music and wondering what everyone's saying. In other words good Xmas fodder where it doesn't matetr if you wander off for ten minutes as you're unlikely to miss anything important.

Seen previews in a couple of newspapers and they say it's the best DW Christmas Special yet

I'm expecting it to be a good episode, hope I'm not disappointed! but then again I'm usually pleased with Doctor Who episodes (even RTD scripts!), but it's just whether or not it's a rewatchable episode (unlike L&M and 42).

Well I just hope no one interrupts me watching it! That puts me in a really bad mood and need to watch the episode again to appreciate it!

What's wrong with love and monsters? I thought it was a good episode, 42 on the other hand, I fell asleep during. Literally.

It'll be brilliant for me, I know it - but then, I love every new episode of Doctor Who, there haven't been any episodes I've been disappointed in, so far!

I LOVE IT ALL!!!

1 hr 10 mins of entertainment with the Timelord.
Can't wait. Any fresh Who always gets the adrenaline going. Just hopes it lives up to expectations.
Less than 48 hrs until we find out!

yes, i'm looking forward to it, one of the very few bright spots on a truly dismal xmas line up.

I dunno what it is about L&M, I just can't rewatch it (well as often, only seen it twice compared to the hundredth time of others lol).

All I will say is PeterKay!Monster, and the paving slab joke.

I like 42 though, if only for David Tennant's Gurn, erm I mean, Burn With Me moment (and the general Martha and Ten goodness).

As for expectations about the VotD, I don't really have any, but I am pretty much hoping that it's vastly better than TRB (I rather liked TCI myself). But going by RTD's last effort, i'm not counting on much (he just can't do a decent plot resoloution like ever).

My expectations are low. After the last tw oXmas specials I have come to accept they are just a bit of festive fun and should be viewed then forgotten. Its only when such poor writing creeps into the main series that I worry

The Christmas Invasion was okay, Runaway Bride was one of the worse episodes of the new series. So my expectations are very low indeed.

For me, Christmas Invasion is one of the best Doctor Who stories of all time. I really enjoyed it and though it a brilliant way to introduce a new Doctor.

Runaway Bride wasn't as good, but had some terrific set pieces (saving Donna by flying the TARDIS next to the taxi, for instance).

I have high hopes for this one. People who've seen the preview have raved about it so fingers crossed.

The reviews seem very positive, and the trailers have looked great. But I saw the motorway chase scene at the CiN concert last year, and that turned out to be the only decent thing in the episode!

So I'm not overly-optomistic, but still looking forward to it a bit. If only for the new arrangement of the theme and series 4 preview...
