Is it the EastEnders brand that got Matt in the final?

There is no doubt that EastEnders is a brand that people buy into and it has a core target of teenagers who vote like mad for anything EastEnders. Do you think the EE name is what has made Matt reach the final instead of some of the better dancers like Gabby?

But Matt is brilliant

No i dont agree Im a teenager, and i think Eastenders is S*** tbh, infact i thought i would hate him at the begnning or the series, purely because he was from EE.

Now he's my fav because he can dance

Probably not the Eastenders factor this time, but more the young girls voting for his face and body. I can't think why the judges put Matt through over Gethin unless it's true what's been said - that they were afraid Gethin would beat Alesha and put Matt through in the belief that he couldn't beat her. They should be ashamed of themselves. A final between Gethin and Alesha would have been much more exciting and less predictable. And there would have been less outrage at a Gethin victory than there will be if Matt's misguided fans manage to vote him into first place.

Sorry, I can't agree with you there. I'm not a teenager, and I think the last time I watched EE Letitia was still in school uniform. However, I have voted for Matt (amongst others) in this SCD. Gethin's dancing, for me, was the equivalent of magnolia paint: inoffensive but bland.

In a way yes, but he is a pretty good dancer.

I consider Matt a better dancer than Gethin, and I like Blue Peter a lot more than that dreary soap.

He has proved tonight (and I speak as a huge Alesha fan) that he deserves to be in that final. I hope the pair of them will push each other to great heights later on, both great finalists IMO.

nope the public vote (and the judges saving him) got matt to the final as well as his dance ability nothing to do with EE at all - his performances tonight have proved he is a worthy finalist and i wish him and Alesha all the best tonight - its going to be the closest final to date I think

just the truth as I see it after the show this evening. (I have thought all week that Matt had it in him - one disaster doesn't wipe out a lot of good performances) I thought they both had moments of complete fabulousness, and both had moments when things went awry, but there's no doubt in my mind they are VERY evenly matched overall tonight and I honestly think it could swing either way.

I thought it was the fat middle aged women on their fourth kit-kat that did it.....

Matt's character is incredibly unpopular in Eastenders.

He is an excellent dancer and a worthy finalist IMO.

I like Matt & Gethin equally, but when Matt's on form he's better than Gethin.

He's also better than Gabby, who, seeing again tonight, and Penny too, confirmed to me that Penny was the better dancer.

If Flavia had let Matt do the waltz instead of the American Smooth as their ballroom choice tonight, as he wanted to, he'd probably have got at least one 10 for that & maybe even 4. Then he'd be level with Alesha in terms of points.

I still Alesha's better than Matt. But there's never been such a close final.
