I was blown away by both Alesha and Matt's latins in their first shows, tonight, I still loved it but the energy was missing. Probably due to nerves. Don't blame them!

The ballroom was equal imo.
And the judges dance equal too.

Does anyone else thing the show/freestyle dance may decide it?

They are both so close. If anyone does a Darren Gough or Mark Ramprakash they are through. A Colin Jackson puppet dance and they have gone.

It is really close to my mind, and I am totally judging on the dances tonight and suspect many others are. But the show dance is always huge. The favourite couple have lost on this and strictly dance fever for a bad show dance! So fingers crossed for your favourite!

I think it might. I do hope the best showdance wins as so far they've been equal to me.

Id say so ..i cant choose between the two..as a netural fan .....i cant seperate them at the moment......Both worthy winners at the moment .... Think Flavi might pull soemthing out of the bag with the freestyle as i deffo think that she makes the better routines....

If I`d tuned into SCD for the first time tonight then I`d never have guessed that Alesha was the very strong favourite to win.It was very close tonight. I think with many viewers possibly voting for the first time tonight......Matt may pull this off.I personally will vote for Alesha because I believe that over the course of the series she deserves it.

I think we might see a difference but there probably wont be time for any difference in the votes to affect the overall total.

I think it may decide it for the judges and studio audience but for their respective fans who have been voting (not all but a lot if all the different forums are anything to go by) all week then I don;t think there is a lot to be decided.....

i think it might..i must admit, although i ammatt fan, i had expected alesha to be far ahead of matt, but tongight, he has doneme proud..he wass so brilliant out there

I have done something I have never done before, I have voted for both of them. Before tonight I would have said Alesha was almost a dead cert. However Matt's quickstep blew me away and I voted for him as well!! Mad I know considering it cancels each vote out. The showdance will be the decider.

I agree. Matt has definitely performed incredibly well, much better than I expected, and I thought he won the Judge's choice dance by a mile. Great choreography by Flavia and dancing by Matt.

Does anyone understand betting odds? looking at those (and I am not sure I do understand them) then it looks as if Mattesha are odds on to win......

it normally is decided on the showdance, look at colin and erin they were fav to win and then done that stupid showdance and darren won, looking forward to a great results show am not bothered about the result am a supporter of both

Both are very strong but both have their minor faults. It is extremely tight this year.

However such fans (and forums) do not come close to representing the breadth of voters and sheer number of voters who never visit forums or are not "fanatics". Many are likely to be voting for the first time as well.

One way of looking at it is that the betting market implies there is a 70% chance of Alesha winning and a 30% chance of Matt winning.

yeh alot of people dont vote until the final or watch until the final like my neighbour she watches x factor then goes out never watches strictly til the final and votes then! you cant go by the view on the forum

Lets hope Flavia and Matt C learnt from Erin's mistake. Haven't decided who to vote for yet and I think both couples have done well so for me it will comedown to the showdance.

Matt has performed much better than I expected. I agree that the gap between them is very small.

I agree it was close. I thought they both did very well in all the dances, but with slightly less zip than they had before.
The 5 dances debacle makes it difficult for them to be at their absolute best.
The only dance I thought was fully delivered was Alesha's jive, so she has got my vote so far.

I have to say that Gethin danced the best latin he has ever done - happy but controlled, very smooth.

Made me wish again it had been a three way final.

yeh but wasnt rhydain fav on x factor with the betting odds, not sure on that though but think he was!
