They are so tight - anyone else think the showdance might decide it?

Alesha deserves to win, I've enjoyed watching her all series. I can't imagine going through the list of winners and saying Matt as having won this series over Alesha.

I just hope that the showdances are good and actually have some dancing. Zoe & Darren's showdances were great (if you like Darren), but last year's were abysmal.

Abysmal???? Mark & Karen were fantastic, Erin's was sadly misjudged.

It is really tough tonight, I still want Alesha to win as she's always amazing, but I think Matt has performed brilliantly too tonight.

Actually I didn't much like either of the showdances last year though I still wanted M&K to win on the strength of the rest of the performance.

I thought the showdances were poor last year by both.

I thought Mark & Karen's showdance was wonderful, but wasn't impressed by Matt's lift-filled feat of gymnastics and weight lifting. Hopefully Matt's will be like Matt's and turn viewers off. No offence to Matt fans, I do love him too

Mark and Karen's showdance last year was a bit ridiculous. It wasn't a dance really, he just powerlifted Karen above his head. It didn't have much musicality lol. He still should have won but that one dance was a mistake.

I tried to find out exactly when the phone lines close on the BBC website, but it does not say.
Does anyone know exactly when the cut-off is?

It must be between half 9 and 10 surely?

Alesha, IMO, has been a fraction ahead of Matt tonight. But I'm nervous about Alesha's showdance. If it's as fast as they implied on ITT it's either going to be "A-MA-ZING!" or a shambles. I hope it's not the latter.

You're right though- the show dance will be the decider.

Come on Alesha =D

They did manage to look more graceful than actually weightlifters though. Mark Ramps just hauled Karen up like a bar - not a good look when you're meant to be dancing.

Same here - also felt most people had already decided their winner and the showdance was just each couple's goodbye dance. Nothing Matt and Lilia did in theirs would've swayed me to vote for them.

Preferred Mark's salsa the first time round and thought they both looked tired, but Mark had won it for me already with his previous performances and it helped that he was better on the night. Same applies to Alesha tonight.

The ballroom was equal imo.
And the judges dance equal too.

Does anyone else thing the show/freestyle dance may decide it?

It has other years?

They are both so close. If anyone does a Darren Gough or Mark Ramprakash they are through. A Colin Jackson puppet dance and they have gone.

It is really close to my mind, and I am totally judging on the dances tonight and suspect many others are. But the show dance is always huge. The favourite couple have lost on this and strictly dance fever for a bad show dance! So fingers crossed for your favourite!”

The show dances may not be the deciding factor. It all depends on how many people actually vote for the best dancer, and that is without doubt Alesha, she is after all the only one left that actually deserves to be in the final

So far, a disappointing final.

Nobody has raised their game. The performance was too average to be called the 'Grand Final'. What can you say, the most worthy finalists are not there to compete. I would like to imagine that if Gethin was still in the competition, he'll raise the game as he's the mental strength to work under pressure. Matt was so nervous that is simply painful to watch. Please don't use all those 'he's only 20, or it's the final' again. I know its' the final, that's why the best dancers should be there. Remember Natasha, Jill Halfpenny, Colin Jackson? (btw, the muppet dance was not his decision so he's blameless) They all raised their game in the final, that's what should be expected.

Overall, they are not equally strong, they are equally average (for a Grand Final standard), hopefully the next two dances can bring out something worthy for a final. So far, this has been missing.

Why is she the only one who deserves to be there? Matt wiped the floor with 'Gorgeous' Gethin in the final so i don't know who you think should be there - Letitia maybe..

I think the ballroom dancing has been OK, but the Latin performances have lacked the oomph from the first performances - must be nerves and/or having to do five dances etc.

You know as well as I do that he should have gone out 2 weeks ago,but because he is young and cute and has a lovely bum,all the ladies voted to keep him in.Do you think that Letitia deserved to go out that week ,because if you do then there is something wrong

A bit lacklustre.

But Matt is perofrming better than Alesha on the night.
I think his AS beat her waltz.
His salsa worse than previously. Her cha cha no better than before.
Also his QS significantly better than her jive.

Hate to say this but...Matt so far.
Who Am I?

I've not been disappointed by the final. My daughter and I have really enjoyed it and agree that is very very close. Can't wait for the showdances - although in a way I can as it means SCD will be over for another year.

That was one move and one moment though.
