sausage wrapped in bacon
My son has been exposed to little sausages wrapped in bacon. He loved them and wants more. I looked on line to see some recipes and only found what seemed to be American ones.
I am not very keen on sausages as a rule, nor bacon; but it is Christmas and if my sweet babboo wants it, I'll make it. So, what type of bacon and sausages do I buy? How long do I cook them? etc. etc. etc. Thank you! |

There are some recipes here on the BBC food site.
I think almost any type of sausage is okay, as long as it is fairly thin. |

i was going to suggest how long to cook sausages and bacon, but then i realised that i've never really paid attention to how long i cook them for... just until they seem done. just check out how long it says on the packet and add a little more time just in case eh |

Personally, I stick them in the oven on a lowish setting for an hour or so. I like the bacon to get really crisp.
The BBC recipes suggest much faster cooking - maybe most people prefer them like that.

Go into Tesco, or those sort of places, and a real sausage cannot be found. They might look good and have authentic sounding names but they are all sh!te. ![]() Real sausages are made by real butchers. If you want the real thing you have to pay for it. If you want cr@p then go to the superstores. Life is simple really. I think Jamie Oliver has been trying to say this for years but people still buy in Supermarkets and then look at each other and wonder why they bothered once they taste the goods. |

You are looking for a recipe?! It's a sausage wrapped in bacon - what else is there to it?!

I would recommend dipping the sausages in some marinade sauce first, and also dipping the bacon in some marinade sauce too before wrapping the bacon around the sausages, just to add a bit more excellence to the flavor!

Good chipolata and bacon from reliable butcher. Wrap one round the other( you work it out
![]() ) and bung in the oven for 20-25 minutes. I sometimes drizzle some honey or maple syrup on mine but I don't have them that often so maybe not good for a kid that will eat them every day given the chance.

One to try here.
http://i.imgur.com/CCPaU6A.jpg I use tomato sausages, a strong mature cheddar and smoked bacon. |

You can also get really good quality ones in Waitrose at only £2.68 for 8. These are very nice!

Sorry, I have to disagree here. A decent sausage is made from non-mechanically retrieved meat, a minimum of fat and gristle, and a real skin (not plastic).

Usually only see chipolatas at christmas.
I usually get thin sausage from the butchers, squeeze in the middle to get the sausagemeat away and twist. Instant chipolatas. Wrap in half a slice of streaky, then about 30-40 minutes in the oven does it. |

I think its funny the OP was after a recipe for sausages wrapped in bacon.
The ingredients would probably be something like * sausages * bacon The method would probably be something like wrap the sausage in bacon, and put it in the oven.
