The trouble with M&S is the premium price you pay for things from there!
they aren't actually. the little M&S sausages are relatively high meat content (76% I think), taste great and are not that expensive.the streaky is £2 a pack from memory.

We call them pigs in blankets, the local butcher sells them made with beef/ black pepper sausage covered in a soft cheese followed by a large thin slice of chorizo then wrapped in smoked streaky bacon. He sells then ready cooked by the hundreds or by the pound uncooked with or without the cheese and chorizo.

I am in N.I, the chorizo makes a mountain of difference as does the beef sausage to the taste. People here would eat them much in the same way as people would see a sausage roll or cornish pasty, the pigs and blankets are pretty much as common here as chips and fish usually put in a roll like a hotdog. Another option is vegetable roll wrapped with smoked bacon and smothered in cheddar or applewood cheese inside a Belfast bap.
