What???! Just...WHAT!!!!!!

What is wrong with Anton with thinking she could be trusted with a lift...???? She makes walking look difficult...she shouldn't be allowed to have sharp scissors or proper cutlery....

What is the matter with the two of them????

that lift is quite difficult to do, and i think the woman can't just be expected to be flung up there, she needs to do some work to keep herself up, like using her stomach muscles. I think that's where it went wrong, Kate does not have a strong middle body, so she couldn't help herself get up, I think she just kind of expected Anton to do everything.

Great to see Anton back but maybe he should have borrowed Erin's girl mannequin and disguised it as Kate. Everyone would have thought "Kate" had had a major dance breakthrough!

I was watching it on a 15 minute delay via Sky+. It gave me the opportunity to FF through Kate, Willie, Stephanie and Brian. Thank God for small mercies.

Why didn't they do the foxtrot which was her only dance which wasn't a complete embarrassment...she just reminded everyone why she shouldn't have been the comp for as long as she was...

She said it went worse in rehersels...what did he just smash her head straight into the group while her clothes sprung from her body leaving her in a bloodied naked mess on ther ground...cos I can't quite see how it could have gone worse...

I've lost quite a bit of respect for Anton this series because he consistently made bad choices for Kate - and don't get me wrong she was RUBBISH!

I just put my paws over my eyes as soon as Anton and the Thing from the Deep took to the dancefloor.

A bear shouldn't have to witness something that awful three days before Christmas.

I kinda enjoyed Kate's lift... I think she's great! [Not at dancing, but her attitude is brilliant. And no, I didn't vote for her!] ...maybe I've had too much wine already?

HAHA! So true!

I think Anton felt he had to justify Kate staying in the competition so long, whereas he should have just agreed with everyone else and said she was never going to be a dancer! The lift should have been taken out at rehearsal stage when it collapsed, I for one thought somebody was going to get badly hurt and I think I saw more of Kate Garraway tonight than I ever intended to!

Oh come on! Yes it was dreadful but it was lots of fun.

Although I wasn't a fan I do think that having realised she was awful at dancing Kate has been one of best for representing that "just have a go and make it fun spirit" that I want SCD to be about!

You can be faulted for that - Kate clearly had too and she's on live tv!

Maybe the wine was affecting me too! Those of us who enjoyed THAT lift certainly seem to be in the minority.

I second that.

But do you remember on their last dance when he picked her up in literally a lift that everyone does at some point in their lift...possibly to carry their bride over the theshold - or as my cousin does at every opportunity as a joke...

When they did that simplest of simple lifts (and remember he is a pro dancer so should make lifts look better then most) she somehow straightened her lets and threw her head back and always threw them off balance then!

I agree which is part of the reason I wouldn't have wanted to see her seriously hurt.

As The Thing from the Deep was wearing red, do you think there was a conscious effort on the part of Anton to make us believe he'd taken Po on to the dancefloor instead of that two left-footed monster?

Good grief! What do you think I am?

I wouldn't want to see Kate hurt either and I'm sure Anton wouldn't have done it if he thought either of them would be seriously hurt.

That lift was good but bad.

Good for Kate to even attempt something that difficult.

Bad because it didn't work. I was seriously scared Anton was going to drop her. I don't think neither of them had the strength needed to pull the lift off and it should have been taken out, to avoid the injuries.
