Christmas No 1s of Years Past
Just watching TOTP 2 Christmas Special made me realise how many great (and cheesy!) Christmas songs we have had in the past and then the feeling of dismay at the dross that is going to be served up as Christmas No 1 tomorrow night.
This is not aimed specifically at Leon (even though I cannot recognise any discernible talent), but more at what the X Factor is forcing on us, year after year. Dull, monotonous ballads that mean nothing to anyone, least of all the singer. Bring back Christmas Novelty records - anything but X Factor sh*te please

Most of the Christmas songs they played did not reach #1.
Stop The Cavalry was denied by No One Quite Like Grandma by St Winifred's School Choir... (and John Lennon, who was high in the chart after his untimely death). |
