If Simon Cowell had an ounce of sense, he would sack this excuse for a judge now.

His predictable critique is as follows:

"You made that song your own"

"I think you could be the next..."

" I think you could have a hit record with that"

Yeah I liked him in the first series as I thought that he was a good mentor and actually cared about them (and I can grudgingly accept that maybe there is some element of genuine concern there). However I think that any of the finalists have more maturity despite their tender years than this guy, who is old enough and financially secure enough to know better.

Another anti-Louis thread. He's a great judge and he brings alot of entertainment to the show.

I couldn't help but giggle just a wee bit, kyri. Given the Rhyd vs Leon stuff going on....it was funny.

He has absolutely NO credibility. He changes his mind every 20 seconds. On the Extra Factor he said what a great show it had been, next minute he's in the papers slamming the show, complaining about the level of talent, though to my mind the talent has been every bit as good as previous years.

How can anyone ever take his opinion seriously? He's like that character who used to be on the Fast Show who agreed with whoever he was speaking to at the time and couldn't form an opinion and stick to it if his life depended on it.

One minute Hope ere the best thing since sliced bread and then when Bev went they became "Hopeless" and "a joke" and that was without having sung in the interim.

This year....I have felt sorry for Louis at times. He is a truly pathetic creature, at times and can move between being nice to people and heartlessness.

His treatment of SD was unnecessary, IMO. Watching Sarah break her heart....and he had to say 'There are better singers in the competition'. He could just have said, ' You tried hard, you've worked hard and people like you.'

How hard would that have been?

For me it is worse because I am convinved that he only did that to get back at Simon for the way he treated the Macccy Ds (which was itself pathetic - but two wrongs and all that - especially when the wrong is done to someone ho didn't do the first wrong)

I to like Louis. In what was often a boring series , at least he was entertaining. He might often slag the show in the papers, but at least it deflects some attention away from the Ofcom investigation.

At least Louis has had a winner. Sharon has yet to prove she is a worthy judge.

I think that even if Shayne had me as a mentor he would have won. He would have had his work cut out to lose with him

Does anyone remember the last six at the judges' houses when Louis took a dislike to Icaro?

He picked a song for each act and made Icaro sing 'Creep' by Radiohead while he sat there sniggering and smirking at him. His behaviour was no better than that of an overgrown schoolgirl.

Tells you all you need to know about how 'nice' a person Louis Walsh is.

I can't believe I'm about to defend Sharon Osbourne, but to be fair to her, she's just never had a winner in her group. Yes she's a rubbish mentor, but she's never really had an act that could win anyway.

Louis is a complete prat. He usually gives EVERYONE the most banal of good comments.

Though I have to say he seemed to have taken a dos of jalapenos this year with which to slate SD wihich was amusing if cruel. I'm a Rhydian fan so can't complain on this front as he never slated him, but... he's so useless.

when I was at uni my flatmates and i used to keep a box of pinpong balls next to the TV to chuck at louis when he pissed us off

Andy was good but he wasn't a winner, and it's constant going on about being a bin man put me off him in the end. Tabby's an interesting one. I know everyone raved about him and i think when you were watching he was very good, but usually i listen to tv rather than watch it (yeah i know i should buy a radio instead) and turn around to watch if i hear something interesting and to be honest, not once did Tabby do anything that made stop what i was doing and turn around to see who was singing.

Get rid of mentor judges, have the judges say it as it is. I think Simon Cowell is appreciated the most because that's just what he does. Most of the time he says exactly what I would like to say, although there were a number of occasions later on in the most recent series when he praised an act I thought had done badly.
