Very sad if it's true and would have made the audition even more difficult for him.

On the other hand, it's just another of those stories that we have no real way of knowing if it's true. I hope it isn't.

They have named someone and quoted him. I wonder if it isn't true where anyone would stand re sueing. Would it be Leon and or this guy.

Meh. Alls well that ends well. Probably just an argument that got out of hand and neither wanted to back down. It's clear that they are exceedingly close now and were before the argument.

There is a thread about an interview with him and his mum. This is probably what you were thinking of.

It sounds more like a row where Leon stormed out and things eventually cooled down. I doubt she "kicked him out" over it. My brother did the exact same thing with my mother when he was 17-not over singing-but a few days later he was back and all was fine.

Shame on that "friend" for selling that story though.

All hats off to Leon for believing in his dream, since he was obviously upset over the discord with his mum.

Also, hats off to him for keeping this quiet. Can you imagine the cries of 'sob story'?

If that had happened to me I'd want to keep it quiet. I can;t imagine that anyone tould want to male it public. If true it is a shame for everyone that it has come out.

It would have been a major sob story. Some would have used it. Proves Leon's commitment. Leon loves his mum, though and wouldn't have wanted to have her portrayed in any negative light.

Why the ?

Wendy was probably looking out for her son who had just been offered a place at uni. And he chooses to sing, instead of uni. Most mums would want their kids to grab the chance of an education. So, they had an argument? Wendy was wrong....she will be living with that now.

She loves her son, so would you be so kind as to leave it at that? Can you just let him be for a while?

Lol, it shows nothing of the sort, and unless you know the family you can't have a clue as to the in's and out's of the situation, none of us can. I can sort of understand her concerns, even if she went about it the wrong way.

For all the quick fame and money he'll get from winning The X Factor isn't it possible that 5 years from now he'd have been better off if he'd gone to college. Mum's know best, sometimes.

Well any Mother who lets her son sleep in a car is a disgrace.

The thing is Zip, I can well understand her worries about it. What Leon has achieved in winning the show is rather a miracle considering how little experience of singing he has had. I can see how she would worry that he hadn't thought things through properly. especially since having a place at university and so on must have seemed like the smart choice to her at the time.

I don't think either of them or right or wrong here, it's just good that they worked things out and have put it behind them. It certianly doesn't read like she chucked him out, in any case.

I doubt whether she knew he was sleeping in a car.

The story reads more to me that they had a row and he walked out, as opposed to her throwing him out, anyway.

The way I worded that....I can see it didn't look right. I meant simply that Wendy was wrong about Leon having a future in singing....not for arguing with him.

Wendy and Leon are a joy to see together....hope my son feels like that about me when he's 18 (oh, going all mushy now....)

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, looking back she must realise she was wrong, but at the time, well she probably had no idea how well he was going to do. It may have appeared like he was dropping something that would bring massive prospects for a gamble. When she saw him on the show, you could see how proud she was of him...

Absolutely, Mutts. Wendy's a great mum and Leon is a credit to her. He's such a lovely kid.....Wendy's done a good job.

I couldn't throw my son out no matter what he did as he could just get drawn in with a bad crowd if he'd got nowhere to go.

I can't imagine 'throwing out' an only child, especially if I didn't have a husband for support and company - it would worry me so much about his sleep, food, washing, clean clothes, getting to work on time and so on.....

he said on his audition clip 'no disrespect to my mum, but she thinks me following a singing career is a wee bit far-fetched.'

I can see how they had a heated arguement and he probably walked out to cool down...I know there was many a time in my late teens that I wanted to do that and when I got 'it's my house you dont like it'..well I decided to vote with my feet.

It'a all normal...but gives context to his 'I came on my own' comment at his audition.
