i have 2 stationary horizontal lines on my tv, about 2 inches apart near the bottom of my tv screen. they appear on sky, normal tv and dvd.

any ideas what may be causing them?

What make and model of TV? And are they coloured lines, or black, or white?

Assuming it's your Toshiba 37 you're talking about?, do they appear on analogue teletext as well?.

they are feint black lines, about 1 cm thick, and i cannot see them on analogue teletext,

In which case it's probably not a fault of the LCD panel.
