Ready Brek - is another I used to love, prefer porridge now.

Totally shocked at people putting cheese and chocolate. I don't think I could live without either!

All mine are probably fairly standard stuff such as Smiley Faces, Alphabetti, Findus Crispy pancakes etc.

Chop and mash with mushy peas and gravy.
My mum made it a lot but since we got a microwave it was heated up in there. The Gravy developed a skin and the peas were dried up and nasty. Put me off it forever.

I also used to have fried chicken and fried chips. I haven't owned a frier for years now.

I have too. We never ate a huge amount of fried food when I was a kid, but Mum did have a fryer. I've never owned one and don't want one. Deep fried food just doesn't appeal to me any more. I haven't even had fish and chips for a couple of years now.

Wagon Wheels us to seem huge as a kid. Not the pathetic size they are now.

I think it depends what you're cooking. I think a lot of people have had experiences of bad food done in fryers, horrible greasy stuff.

I bought a fryer a couple of years ago (purely to try and do Heston Blumenthals chips). I don't use it a lot but if I've time it's worth it for the chips alone. So much better than normal chips or oven chips. You can do nice beer battered onion rings and things like that too.

If you put the effort in the food isn't greasy, plus my fryer is so easy to drain and clean, not like they used to be.

The multi pack ones are smaller (they're supposed to be) but the individual ones are the same size the used to be.

Used to love a dip on a Sunday, that is when the Sunday roast was nearly cooked, my grandmother used to dip some bread into the juices of the roast. Fantastic

Might try that again sometime.

Edit : beef roast

I reckon brown sauce goes better on corned beef butties.

Toast and salad cream, just by itself. I used to make this for myself a lot when my parents were out and think I was a right good cook!

Also peanut butter. I even used to eat it from the jar sometimes...sickened myself of it and couldnt touch it for a couple years, I go off and on it nowadays
