Pint of kronenberg.....bloody rank, probably had more to do with the lines not being cleaned properly though!

My office secret santa this year gave me 4 cans of Alfa extra strong beer.9.2%.

Tastes foul but good as an emergency on a Sunday night when everything is shut

Yes have to agree there tasted as if it was made from recycled slops from the drip tray mixed with dyke water

plus

Watney Starlight in fact I cannot think of a decent Watney beer, because there wasn't one.

Toby Bitter
Double Diamond

There were one or two local micro brews that also tasted dreadful, though saying that there were also some excellent ones.

I agree that these are, without doubt, the worst brews I have ever had. Notice that I didn't call them beers. As far as I am concerned beer has to be a real, living brew. Lager is not really beer ... it is lager.

Beer is yum, yum.
Pint of Stella

Red Stripe to me is one of the most appallingly bad beer/lagers ever.

Also American Budweiser - ewwww! The real Czech Budvar is cool, though.

How can some of you say Stella is gross? It's great, IMO! However my OH would agree with you all, he can't understand my Stella-affinity.

The worst would be a pint of real ale when it's turned, e.g. bottom of the barrel.
That's the thing about it that it can vary so much.

As to the normal taste of a beer and it being awful - well I'd say Budweiser but then again it doesn't actually have any taste!

I used to do bar work part-time when I was younger. I tried lots of different beers "on tap" The vilest muck I can remember is Mild, tasted like bat's pee. (Well I should imagine that's what it tastes like) Do blokes still drink it, like Mild and Bitter was a favourite drink?

Any of those real ales that certain types of men seem to rhapsodise about!!

Wheat Beer is disgusting but must say the worst was when my Gran asked me If I wanted a can of Carlsberg and produced a Special Brew!!

There was this stuff in the German supermarket called "Pils exquisite", it was 5% and only 25p for a 440ml can.

The problem was it was utterly revolting. They should have renamed it to Piss exquisite.

Once had a pint of real ale called "Deakins" ... it was so bad even my mate (who makes his own homebrew) wouldn't drink it.

Pint, well, a couple of sips, of Pedigree drank in an infamous Essex town centre pub. I swear the mystery of creation was hidden in it's murkey depths.

It's certainly a thing that a bad pint of Pedigree is vile, but a good pint is like nectar.
Don't let one bad pint of a real ale put you off having it again - it could be a variety of factors, pipes not cleaned properly, beer too old etc.

lol. Grannies aren't supposed to do that!

I started drinking beer in the 60s when the big breweries were trying to get everyone to consume nitrokeg stuff, Red Barrel and Titbread Wankhard.

There were still some good beers around but some pubs seemed to have difficulty keeping them properly. The worst I recall was a pint of Yates and Jackson, in a pub in Garstang.

I raise my glass to CAMRA, who were responsible for the re-birth of good ale in this country.
