Devenish Viking lager and Arkells Kellar lager were probably the 2 worst lagers produced ever.

Real Castlemaine XXXX Bitter made in Brisbane, Queensland is rather good and goes down a treat on a tropical summer's evening.

Unfortunately it has been unavailable in the UK for many years after Castlemaine Perkins signed a deal with those nasty beer globalists InBev to make and sell an inferior product in the UK. You guessed it - it tastes p*ss.

In 1998 it was awarded two Monde Selection gold medals in Belgium.

Victoria Bitter (VB) is the worst - hangover in a can

VB really is a Vile Brew.

Steinlager can be quite pleasant however I would take these brewing awards with a pinch of salt.
What was it up against in competition?
If it's up against VB, Skol and Kestrel then it may indeed win gold.

Put it up against a good brews and I doubt it would come out top.

Dutch Gold. It's like water and flat half the time.

One poster said Hoegaarden was Dutch! Well it isn't, it's Belgian. And Imbev tried to move the brewery to Jupille. And for a year or so Hoegaarden sucked big time because the water in Jupille isn't the same as in Hoegaarden. Since November Hoegaarden is great again!

The worst beers I've ever had were Keystone Light in the US and Tekel Birası in Turkey, it's actually worse than Efes. (I know it sounds impossible)

Of course VB is vile. Once you've tasted Boags, everything else is rubbish.

Budwieser!!!!

I was in a rush when I bought 12 bottles of the stuff, 6 bottles down and I was still stone cold sober, my mate laughingly checked the vol % on the bottle only to find it was their non-alchoholic ones!!!!

they tasted so much like the real thing I hadn't noticed

shouldn't be allowed i say.

I bet it was from the continental beers' stand at the Great British Beer Festival and that it came in a bottle, rather than on tap and that it was a German Rauschbier.
God, I love them.
Mmmmmmm Bacony beer. What more could a body ask for?

The worst beer I've ever had was at a CAMRA beer festival in Belfast. If you can imagine the fartiest person you know, then imagine his or her essence distilled into cold black tea and left to fester for a fortnight in a damp cellar, then you might be halfway to imagining how completely diabolical this stuff was. I took it back, the man on the stand had a sip and said it was supposed to taste like that. Eeek! I can't even remember what it was called, because the episode was so horrific, I've obviously subconsciously suppressed the memory.

Did anyone ever try the Tesco value beer - that was so bad! (must point out I didn't buy it, some tightwad brought it to a BBQ).

Hoegaarden. I guess it's one of those beers that you either love or your hate, but I just find the taste of it sickly. Three pound for a pint of it as well down my local.

I often find half full cans of Carling in my hedge. Maybe the people who buy it find it disgusting?

Yes, dreadful stuff, I've accidentally bought it a few times and had to pour it down the sink.

How can you "accidentally" buy it? It has a name nobody in Britain can even pronounce.

Tennants and Carlsberg (especially Special Brew) are the worst beers I can think off, although Carling is pretty rank. I've never liked Stella much either.
