Can you still get it? I thought that it was laughed out of court years ago. IIRC, it was the first of the rubbish beers.

I know this is an old post, but if anyone's still looking........
Back in the old days, our saying in these parts was, Watneys going down tastes like Wadworths coming up.

Budweiser, bought a shedload once as I was assuming there would be a hint of flavour in there somewhere. Drank the first bottle and holy crap on a cracker did I gag.

I've NEVER wasted a beer up until that moment.

A pint called Flat Cap named after Fred Dibnah. Brewed by a Bolton brewery, drank in a Bolton pub about 3 years ago and it was vile.

Budweiser pride themselves on their beer tasting of nothing, God knows why it's one of the biggest sellers in the world. They make it with rice to make it cheaper as well.

Years ago when I used to drink beer/lager, Kestrel was vile.

There was no nitrokeg in the 60s, it was all CO2. Nitrokeg is an abomination to beer and was first around in the 90s (smooth beers)

I had a beer called Samichlaus in a pub a few years ago. It was 14%. I've had some stronger beers that have been quite nice but I was less than impressed with this. It's apparantly really rare though.

Stuff like Fosters and Carling is crap but it's not offensive, I can happily drink it if needs be.

I'm not a fan of Stella or San Miguel in this country but in Belgium and Spain they're quite nice.

I think people who slag off American beer haven't really scratched below the surface of Bud and Miller. They're fairly crap but there's actually some really nice stuff. While I was in the US I enjoyed Anchor Steam Beer, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and quite a few others.

The worst mainstream lager i've tasted is Becks.
Lech is very similar and just as bad.

Anything made by a small Lincolnshire brewery called Batemans

Ayingerbrau/Alpine Lager from Sam Smiths pubs is rank.

Stella is pretty rotten too. Does anyone over the age of 19 actually drink it?

I disagree.
Batemans XXXB is a superb pint.
Try it with good cheese and Scottish Oatcakes

American beer is great once you get past those two. It's the fact that Budweiser seem intent on world dominance while bullying the original Budweiser brewery and making beer from rice that puts people off it.

Becks.
Sol, got some in for the last World cup as it was in Mexico, it's just got a funny taste to it.
Wells Bombardier is the worst though, a couple of years back there was a few cans of that in the garage, that was the only booze we had at home so I decided to finish it all off. What a mistake that was. Had to force every sip of every can down, I kept heaving but was determined to finish them off, I hate wasting things. After going through all that, I will never understand how anyone can enjoy 'real beers' like that Wells stuff. The taste is just horrible, I can't describe it but it's bloody foul. Someone mentioned double chocolate stout, give me a pint of that any day.

Bank Top Brewery I presume? I had that recently and it was not amazing but by no means vile, I suspect your sample was off in some way.

The worst I've ever had was... *checks records* Firkin' Freezing from the Northumberland Brewery. I'm excluding ones that were undrinkable due to spoilage, this one was just plain bad!

Bud Light in the States i remember being very poor 10 years ago when i was there. Back home we had Labatts Lager in one of the locals back in the 90s and it tasted liked a mix between lemon and nettles. Also another lager a little earlier than that i think it might have been called Greenalls or summit - that was naff too. I don't know why i ever drank lager when i was younger, wouldn't touch the stuff now (unless there was nothing else like).

The Becks on draught was not that bad but in bottles it was awful.

I forgot to say before, I echo previous comments about US beers. Their mass-produced big names are just as bad if not worse than ours, but on the flip side they do have an excellent craft brewing scene that's generally not known about over here.

Someone mentioned Sierra Nevada Pale and Anchor Steam, both of those are reasonably easy to get hold of, I'd say they're the UK poster boys for the US craft brewing scene

Regards to pub beers, these are time dated, but I most recall Home Bitter and Brakspears Bitter as being at the top end of ghastly.

I was fond of Kimberley Classic, an unsung brew.

Hull Brewery Bitter. Not had it since the 80's but still recall the foul taste of it.
