Hmm, well at least she'll be used to the reality show scrutiny and tabloid publicity. I remember her being a tad wooden in the Maria show though, so not sure if she'll be that brilliant a dancer!

The guy who plays is about to leave as well, so he could be another option.

By the way, do we know if any of the pros are leaving at the end of this year? I really do hope the majority of them stay the same as I have grown very attached to them this series, but of course they do have a professional life to get on with too so some newcomers would be good too.

I'd love them to find an 'older person' who is still physically capable of performing and doing well. Stephanie Beecham surprised me this year - shame she only stayed for a couple of shows. Apparently Patrick Stewart was too busy this year would love to see him have a go.

I'm sure Brendan would be interested in partnering her

I always thought that SCD didn't choose celebs who have done other reality TV - or at least that they aren't most famous for other reality TV - and I really hope that is a rule and would discount anyone who has done BB, I'm a Celeb or Dancing on Ice. I like to get to know new people and be surprised by them. Once they've done one big reality TV programme they know how to play the game too much.

This year has been a year of beautiful people, and that's been great. Next year, I'd love to see someone a bit older being a serious contender. For example, someone said Philip Glenister (Life on Mars) might do it because he was in the audience one night. I doubt he'd do it, but if he'd did, forget everything I've said this year about voting on the dancing, he'd have my vote before he even stepped on the stage!

Much as I love the thought of John Barrowman - a) he's a dancer - tho he said on ITT that it's the part of his job he's least confident of, he looks v good at it on stage! and b) he's very busy - if he's not filming more Doctor Who and Torchwood next year he'll want to be in the West End.

Another West End performer:
Michael Ball isn't dance trained but after Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and now Hairspray he's maybe done enough for them to think he is - plus he's commited to Hairspray til October 08 - so much as I'd like to see him do it it's unlikely.

Wonder how long Linda Henry's staying in EE? No idea if she can move, except she used to come down those stairs in leather in Bad Girls pretty well!!

He's doing the Ice Skating after Christmas isn't he? So doubt he will do Strictly as well.

I noticed the former BP presenter sat prominently (at or near the front) in the semi-final and final show. He seemed rather to be watching the semi-finalists and finalists intently.

I am going to bet (though I never bet!) that he's approached to participate next year's SCD.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Melanie Sykes was asked, she confessed to being a huge fan on ITT and was also in the Audience at one of the shows!
