I forgot all about Cat Deeley until the headline about her on DS today. Will she return to American Idol next year? Personally, I hope not unless her segments are transformed into an Xtra Factor style show. I don't have anything against her or what they were trying to do, but it interrupted the flow of the show but could work as a standalone show.

Does anyone have any official confirmation on whether she will be back?

I really hope not as she added nothing the the show and her interviews were pretty rubbish. Why cant we just have the show without having to listen to her stupid comments.

Hi Everyone I am hoping Cat deely is not on American Idol this year I really dont like her in the show .

While I agree that it would be better to just have the show, if it's between 4:3 without her and 16:9 with her, I'd pick with her every time!

Don't forget that the version with Cat in is especially made for the UK, so we don't get the crappy 4:3 international feed but our own version which they take the time to do in 16:9.

She spoilt American Idol for me last year ...just can't see the point of her being on it ......

Cat was terrible, My in-laws were here (from America) for three weeks and they were like "WHAT" Cat is just so fake sounding, I suppose she ok for Children but she needs to keep away from Grown up TV.

I cannot stand her - she is so self absorbed. She talks absolute crap and spoils the show. I would be happy never to see her face again. Talentless and pointless!! I am surprised she gets any work in the US what with being cross eyed and all. They usually like perfect looking women!

She'll definitely be back. If not her then someone else as they need those bits to make the show more broadcastable so they can fit in their other shows easier around it. Before they had her it was cut to pieces and the show always lasted random times e.g 1 hour 15 mins. It caused chaos for their regular timings so with these new bits added it makes it easier. I really dislike her though.

Well said! It was really great watching Idol last night with having Ms Deeley chipping in with her superfluous and totally inane chatter. Let's hope we never see her again on Idol!

I liked her. And she always had nice clothes lol...
