Sony KDL32D3000 Warrenty

I'm looking to buy a KDL32D3000 in the sales but was wondering if it's worth paying extra for a 5 year warrenty or not.

I've seen prices for the tv with 1 year manucfaters warreny for £650 and then John Lewis price is £899 with 5 years warrenty.

Does anyone know how reliabily this set is and is the extra warrenty worth the money?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

All Sony sets, except the bottom range series, currently come with 5 year warranties anyway - although I'm not sure how long the offer runs for?.

Basically any insurance warranty is down to risk - if it goes wrong out of warranty it's going to probably be expensive - it's rare to get any cheap repairs on flat screen TV's.

Warranty's are a good thing, as long as you check the small print!!

But the sets from Sony are probably the same as John Lewis prices. Wasn't sure if its worth paying £650 and hoping that things are ok as it's bout £250 for the 5 years warrenty.
