I am looking for some advice please. I would like a home cinema system that doesn't come with a dvd player. I am also after sound quality rather than volume. I would also love a wireless speaker system.

It would be best if you would give us an idea on how much you wish to spend on the system.

That said now you're looking for a separate amp/ receiver and a set of speakers. The choice then is quite large depending upon the depth of your pockets. If I were you I would look at Richer Sounds first. Here you may find a complete system that fits what you want at the right price.

The thing to remember is that you will be connecting to the amp and so you will need to get one which wil handle the variety of inputs used today. For DTS and Dolby Digital you need a digital connect, optical or coax, or the amp to have the analogue inputs for the decoded siganl, 6 RCA sockets.
The newer HD formats require HDMI or RCA connections to get the sound.

Then you need to ensure there are enough inputs for what you wish to connect.

So look around decide what you want, how future proof you want it and then give us an idea of your price range.
