So, we've seen the first one at the end of tonights xmas special. What did you all think of it. I was a bit underwhelmed to be honest, like I was when I saw the S3 trailer last year but it turned out to be a good series.

It left me feeling not bothered/neither here nor there really. With series 2 I was looking forward to it. Series 3 I was dreading but series 4 I really do not know. I am really looking forward to Pompeii episode.

I firstly want to say sarah lancaster is defo the rani, the return of unit is really exciting especially with the tie in with the sontarans. However the big thing for me is that its only half of the series so there is so much more to look forward too.

yeah its only 1st half, i remember last year when the series had a 1 week break half way through, they had a second half trailer, which showed all new stuff!

Infact I enjoyed the 1 week break, it made it feel like 2 series

I guess sometimes the Powers That Be are torn between giving massive spoilers like and just hinting at what's to come .

Yeah, I felt like we could have seen a bit more of Martha, because we all know she's returning!
I also chuckled at some of Catherine Tate's lines...

Doctor: I just wanna mate
Donna: Well I'm not mating with you sunshine!

and

Ood: I do not understand Miss
Donna: Why'd you say miss, do I look single?!?

Seems like a refreshing comedic change

Typically action packed trailer - but has served its purpose - i'll be watching. Is it a sign of a darker series to come? Very welcome in my opinion (and possibly the need for a 'comedy actress')?

like VOTD the spoilers for S4 didn't do much for me this time. the Ood don't seem as frightning as they were before, seems odd not to see a Dalek in the preview this time.
would be nice to see the Cybrermen back in S4, they have been rested to long now.

He looks like Andrew Marr, the BBC political correspondant who appeared in the Slitheen story in the Ecclestone series. TBH, only Nicholas Courtney and the '70's gang will look like proper UNIT to me. The man and woman in the trailer looked too much like people pretending to in UNIT.

I like the shot of the Doctor facing somebody about 20 seconds in, with the Tardis apparently in a Forest. Reminds me of the early Davison stuff ( Castrovalva, Kinda) where he always seemed to materialise in woodland.

I think they put that shot of her with the Sonic Screwdriver in for a reason, to make us think she's The Rani but in reality she'll just be another evil genius in the way that they let us think Anthony Head was The Master but he wasn't really!

If AH is anything to go by, they like to create a character they can pretend is the big bad without it actually being such person so they can gauge fan reactions.
If people had been saying "The Headmaster is too like The Master and that character was rubbish" then I doubt they would've brought him back for series 3 but in reality everyone said "AH was great, wouldn't he have made a good Master, I really miss that guy, they should bring him back!"

So they did!

It'll probably be the same situation with Lancashire/The Rani.

I think she is playing the female obsessed with aliens in the 1st episode and more than likely that is the doctors old sonic screw driver he threw away in Smith & Jones

I actually wondered when the episode was on that the Davros rumours started because some "spy" saw this episode being filmed with a disembodied head on a mechanical contraption and assumed it was Davros when it really wasn't...

Hence Davros won't be back, after all...

I liked his demise with Kylie in the forklift though, very Robot Wars!

And I'm glad people aren't overreacting to the kiss in the trailer....there's always a kiss isn't there?

Lot of running down corridoors, i like the look of catherine tate tbh, wasnt too sure when she was first announced, but i quite like what ive seen
