Black & white telly.

Does anyone know how I can switch my LG 37LC46 LCD television from colour to black and white. I have looked through CD ROM User Guide, but there doesn't appear to be such a facility. The reason I ask is that I was pleased to see in the Christmas TV listings that Ch5 were screening the best ever "Scrooge" with Alistair Sim. Unfortunately, my enjoyment of the film was spoilt, somewhat, because what was originally a black and white film has now been "colourised" which has ruined it, I tried to turn down the colour on the tv so as to watch it in black and white without success. Incidentally, had it recorded on my Humax PVR 9200T, I wonder if this can be made to run on black and white.

Presumably you're watching via RGB? - in which case there is actually no 'colour', so you can't turn it down.

If you really wanted to do it?, then switch to a composite or S-Video connection, where you should be able to turn the colour to zero on your TV.

The connections from TV to PVR (AV1) and a DVD/VHS combi (AV2) are by scart (there are 2 scart sockets in the telly). I don't know if I'm watching via RGB or not, might it be chosen automatically when using scarts. Does your suggestion to switch to a composite or S-Video connection involve connecting more cables, because the "Input" list shows the following selections, from top to bottom, DTV, TV, AV1, AV2, Component, RGB, HDM1, HDM2 those connections that are underlined, when selected, show the warning "no signal" on an otherwise blank screen.

No, it doesn't involve more leads - on a Sky box you can turn RGB ON or OFF, perhaps you can on your Humax as well?. If not, try swapping the leads over on your TV, often only one of the SCART's accepts RGB.
