My Gran has a BT Synergy 3505 cordless telephone/answer phone with 3 handsets and has started hearing faint beeps while talking on the phone after roughly 20 minutes, it's not only her that can hear them either, the person she is talking too hears them too. She doesn't have Call Waiting or anything like that and isn't too far away from the base either as she sits right next to it.

Does anyone know what causes these beeps? She is on BT and I have suggested she could be accidentally pressing a button while talking but she is pretty sure she isn't doing that. Could it be BT or the actual phone?

Mine beeps if the batteries are low. Sometimes it does not rest too well in the cradle and does not charge.

Thanks for your replies.

If it was a low battery warning, surely the person on the other end of the line wouldn't hear them, only my Gran would hear them??

I don't think you can say that for certain - just as, now, covering the mouthpiece with the hand is not sufficient to prevent audio being heard by the person on the other end of the line.
