There is a thread comparing it to the Poseidon adventure elsewhere in the forum (which I agree it did remind me of in quite a few places) but it strongly reminded me of the classic Tom Baker adventure Robots of Death, especially the bits with the robots walking about saying 'kill, kill, kill' and the scene where one gets its hand stuck in the door and eventually it falls off. Also similar in that they are all stuck in a claustrophobic situation on a ship trying to escape said Robots

yes I thought the very same thing!

I thought they were more like the Ood than the Robots of Death. Both had detachable parts that were used as weapons and both had the same voice (I think?).

The design of the Hosts is similar to the design of the robots in RoD - beautiful faces, etc.

Also elements of Earthshock and Horror of Fang Rock (Slade's character)
