I'm trying to find info on the net about some sweets i used to love as a kid in the 80's/90's. Specifically the "Rhu-bar" or "Roo-bar"

Unfortunately i can't remember how it was spelt... only that it was a thin pink chewy candy bar in a yellow wrapper. I specifically remember these being sold in the sweet shop on the Royal Umpire caravan site in Croston, Leyland.

Can anyone else remember this? or if anyone knows if they still make/sell them anywhere let me know ??

i think the name "rhu-bar" or "roo-bar" implies i know it's not a refresher bar

nor a wham... before someone suggests it haha!

Irn-Bru Bar??

Well it's the closest so far at least..

Used to love these even if the sourness made me look like I was having a stroke in my mouth!

You can get 'retro sweets' on Ebay, but I wouldn't buy such goods online. You never know what/who you might be eating.

Fizzy Lizzy bars!

Edit: But not when they redesigned and changed the recipe. I adored the ones that had that crazy woman on the front.

My favourite was 'Spacedust'!

Anyone remember it at all? Loads of pops and fizzles and it came in a powder format in different flavours...I loved the stuff

Also the 'CLUB' biscuit bars...I loved the current flavoured biscuit ones where the wrapping itself smelled good enough to eat and they were around 7p each at the time!

I really enjoyed the 'Applause' chocolate bars as well if anyone remembers them. Fantastic memories...

As a kid I always liked the barely-flavored sugar. Like pixy stix and lik-m-aid (which according to wikipedia is now called fun dip).

I'm almost gutted to say this, as it used to be my very favourite - but I bought a Caramac last week. It was so thin it fell apart and tasted nothing like it used to, I was so disappointed. About 60p too!

milk gums that came in a roll like fruit pastelles - i miss them they were lovely.

also i really miss the lemonade Sparkle ice lollies - i have seen the orangade ones in recent years but not the lemonade ones which were a million times better.

those bubble gums that used to come in little mini fruit juice tetra packs

a little pack of 3 bubble gums that had a funny 'clicker' toy in them
