Hello,

I've already posted a similar topic in the V+ forums, but I thought it best to separate this question from that.

I'm looking for a DVD recorder, but one that has outputs for each individual 5.1 speaker (rear, centre, front, etc.), but I'm not too sure about the terminology I should be searching for.

I can find lots of DVD recorders with Dolby Digital out, but we don't have a decoder - just a DVD player that outputs directly to the speakers.

Can anybody help my search?

Thanks.

Oh Lord that's expensive! Would it be possible to just get the DVD player with the outputs I need?

Thanks for the link.

Get V+ (as youre a virgin?) for your recording needs and a nice amp and speakers for the sounds.

Forget DVDRs unless you really need to archive discs.

That's what I'm actually looking to do, although I'm questioning if there's any need to.

I'm not au fait with Virgins' pricing (I'm with Sky) but the question remains re wanting (or not) to have hard copy discs as part of the recording process.

If the answere is that you want to 'watch and wipe' (like the vast majority of viewers) then a PVR (V+ for you) is the answer.

Try this DVD recorder [click] available at your local Richer Sounds. I have one, it's splendid.

You still need to have an external HiFi amplifier with 5.1 audio analogue inputs. I have a matching Azur Receiver also from Cambridge Audio/Richer Sounds.
