Im looking to replace the trusty old CRT TV, with a new 40" LCD 1080 Bravia or similar, but im quite concerned about one thing, and wondered if any of you knowledgable chaps can offer any advice, to put you in the pic we have SKY+,XBOX360/PS3 and a DVD play/rec that feeds the TV, MY concern is that we watch a lot of fast moving stuff, such as football and motorsport, and as you all will know the sky picture isnt great on things like football as in my own words it "PIXELATES" when showing a fast moving picture such as a football match, even on our CRT TV, So my question is will the picture on an LCD TV be even worse, as its already (by design) a pixelated picture..........I know one answer is to buy a PLASMA TV, but i have made the decision to go with LCD already.................Thanks for any advice, and i hope my garble makes some sort of sense

If the source/channel is good then you will will wonder what all the fuss was about.

None of the horror stories I read about LCD screens have come true.

As far as football goes, it wouldn't surprise me if the pixalation was due to the camera panning rather than the screen, fast moving action in movies is razor sharp on my 46inch Samsung.

I have the U version (which is lower specced) of that TV and Sky HD, films on the laptop, and the Xbox 360 all look fantastic on it if you ask me.

SD stuff is decent too.

The pixelating is due to the low bitrate transmission, there's much more information in a football match than in most movies (even fast action ones) hence why the picture quality of football matches is often so bad. This applies to plasma as well as LCD and even CRT.

I do feel that plasma and especially CRT handle fast movement better than LCDs but the pixelation is not LCD caused.
