HD receiver
Right, I guess this has been asked before but please stay with me as I've searched with no success, if I buy a HD ready TV with freeview will I receive BBC & CH 4 in HD or do I need a separate box like the Sky HD box?
Thanks in advance |

If you want to watch BBCHD and CH4 HD you will need a SKY HD box (at this time). Longer term VM will probably be able to offer both channels so you will need a V+ box and even longer term Freeview might be able to offer those channels.
However no current Freeview tuner (in a TV or a STB) will work so again you will eventually need a new HD box to receive the HD broadcasts. If you go the SKY route you do not need to subscribe to SKY HD to watch the BBC HD and CH4 HD (plus ITV HD channel in new year), none of them are subscription channels but CH4 HD will need an active freesatfromsky or ex-sub smartcard. |
