Am I On My Own?

I would like to know if I am truly on my own when I say that I don't really like chocolate!!!

I sometimes feel as if I am a freak when I tell people that I would rather have a savoury than a bar of choccie.

I don't seem to be able to convince people either because for birthday and Christmas I still receive boxes of sweets and I put them in the fridge and hand them out when I have visitors.

Am I a solitary non chocaholic or are there others like me out there???

I would rather have something savoury than chocolate. I can take chocolate in small doses but I'm not too keen!

I'm not too keen on chocolate either. Give me a bag of crisps anyday.

no, I'm with you, cheese, bread, crisps, dips etc are so much nicer than chocolate, I am a starter and main course person rather than main and dessert

I always skip the dessert, much prefer a starter and main

I love chocolate, but one of my kids is like you - and can't stand the stuff really. It makes christmas and easter (and other treats) a bit difficult. If I ask him what he'd like for something special, he says " a carrot".

wish I had his chocolate aversion.

I always had easter eggs sitting around the house for ages and used to give them away to my friends (my family are all the same when it comes to chocolate but it took my mum years of convincing that her children didn't really want easter eggs!) It's the same at Christmas too, this year we were given two tins of celebrations, so they are going into the office with me next week, the cheese boards however are staying in my fridge until we scoff the lot

I've never been a chocolate fan, and would always choose crisps or nuts or something over chocolate. However, I have recently discovered that I quite like very dark chocolate. Things like Green & Blacks 85% cocoa solids chocolate is a completely different beast to the Dairy Milks and Galaxy type things, which to me taste like sticky, oversweet vomit. I know I don't NEED to eat chocolate, but it does make it easier sometimes.

I like chocolate but I prefer something savoury to chocolate, cakes, ice cream etc.

Sometimes I have to have a Chocolate fix, where I just crave the taste, once satisfied, I have to have cheese or crisps, something savoury to finish. Sometimes it's the otherway around.

It's a mood thing. I'll only fancy chocolate occasionally and when I do it has to be a specific type - nothing too sickly, creamy, etc.

Yeah me too.

I love chocolate, but obviously not as much as some people as I don't really like chocolate puddings. Give me a prawn cocktail any day instead!

Sometimes I prefer toffee type puddings (not sticky toffee pud), vanilla cheesecake, brulee, strawberry or banana puddings to chocolate puddings sometimes but when I crave chocolate, I eat chocolate bars in bucketloads.

Sometimes I prefer crisps, chips or cheese to a sweet too.

If I want sweet and savoury, I have the chocolate crisps from the Polish shop - really strange but nice

I find chocolate overrated. I prefer a pasty or a sandwich, normally. I am very fussy about chocolate, and on the rare occassion that I actually want it, I only eat Belgian or Swiss.

I love sweets (and savouries) but am not too keen on chocolate and always feel sickly afterwards.

I prefer candied fruit, Turkish Delight, fudge and other such treats.

I can't stand Belgian chocolate, that lazy tasteless nonsense known as 'truffles' (that has overtaken our previously tasty boxes of chocs) or dark chocolate. I have come to the conclusion that if 'proper' chocolate is that almost black, heavy cocoa content stuff - then I don't like it at all, as that gives me an instant headache. If it's like Galaxy then that's OK.

I can't understand those people who have parties where they have whole chocolate 'meals' with chocolate gravy etc, that were popular a while back. Yuk!

I am not fussed for it either. I had a notion for a Wispa about 3 months ago but it is still in my fridge
The Xmas sweets are all still there too untouched
In our secret santa I got a chocolate fondue set
I put a lot of thought into the present I buy
I have never eaten chocolate at work nor said I liked it. I never touch any sweets that are brought in.
It has gone to the charity shop where MIL works

Your not alone, I can't eat chocolate all the time like I used to. I am lucky if I can eat half a Twix or Bounty, yet the wife and kids can eat bags of chocolates.

I am also somebody who prefers a savoury snack to chocolate, although I don't hate chocolate, I just simply try and stay away from it where possible. I only eat chocolate these days if I am given it as a gift for a birthday present or a Christmas present.

I don't like chocolate at all. Never have done even as a child.

Chocolate in very small doses for me. I can't stand Cadbury's but do like a little bit of Green & Blacks. Currently, I've got some Galaxy Minstrels and some Mini eggs from Aldi in the kitchen and they should last me at least a week. Like others, I do prefer savoury things or even a boiled sweet to chocolate.

I'm not big on cakes either. The whole cup cake thing is a mystery to me.

I'm definitely a starter/main, though I do like sweet food now and again.

As for chocolate, it has to be dark. Has anyone tried Montezuma's? Their dark chocoalte with chilli and their dark with lime and sea salt is amazingly good

Raw cacao nibs are fab as well, though a bit expensive...

I am not that keen on chocolate, I'd eat for example a sandwich rather than a bar of chocolate given the choice. The rare times I have some is white chocolate or the whole nut chocolate, which are nice, plain chocolate doesn't appeal to me.
