I was flicking last night past qvc and noticed the player was on. £206 down to £169 and it comes with the hulk and troy (not the directors cut) plus the 5 free mail rebate hd dvd's and an hdmi cable.

I have to say that the guy did a good job in selling the product but he made a few mistakes like there is over 1000 movies to buy and that the mail rebate ended in the end of feburary, the studio guy had to say it was january butsaid they would double check. He did point out the region free, dvd upscaling etc so overall it was good

The Venturer has to sell below the price of the Tosh E1 units, the only reason for buying such a machine is the price benefit after all

They said that qvc was the first place to sell the player in the uk so hopefully some online retailers will get there hands on some and sell them for a more reasonable price, maybe £130

I still think 167 is cheap for a technology that is in it;s relative infancy within the UK.... Tempting it is,

The Tosh EP10 is currently £149.98 at Currys and should also qualify for the free 5 movies until Jan 31st 2008.

QVC have a UK-exclusive on the Venturer HD dvd player so no other UK based retailers will be able to sell it.
