There's been a couple of threads on this already but it's worth another reminder

Good to see them shown in episode and not omnibus format.
Hopefully they'll continue to show all the episodes they have the rights to up to Mcoy

whats the fan opinion of Revenge of the Cybermen. Have to confess I really love it, the script is not the best but Tom does a wonderful job of it, his performance throughout really makes me smile so I will be watching out for it.

According to the Radio Times they are showing just 20 episodes,so only Bakers first season.

At least that means we can get a decent dvd recording of Revenge Of The Cybermen to complete his first season.

What a shame they didnt go back to Pertwee.

According to the link I posted, they're showing his second season through to February. It's at the bottom of the page.

Classic Who continues in February...
Pyramids Of Mars
The Android Invasion
The Brain Of Morbius
The Seeds Of Doom

Goody.

The RT has the listing for Wednesday as 1/20.

But its great if they are going to fill in all the gaps.

Android Invasion and Seeds of Doom are 2 of my faves.

Cant wait

Just a thought, I'd assume the ones being shown that are already out on DVD will be the remastered versions, but any idea about the unreleased episodes, I'm assuming that they wont have been remastered yet if not out on DVD.
Dont Uk Drama mess up the aspect ratio's as well, or is that something I have just made up

I doubt any of them will be remastered. Something I once read on the Restoration Team forum is that it costs a lot to get a new broadcast copy made from a remastered DVD version. Most satellite/cable stations don't have the money or the inclination to do that so they just carry on showing the same old copies they've had for years.

Thanks Mansun.
They just look absolutely awful in their original state on today's TV's. I remember UK Gold rerunning episodes more than a few years ago and I found them barley watchable because of the poor quality. They aren't high production anyway but they looked shockingly bad then, especially the Pertwe years.

Oh, bugger.

It just shows what a brilliant job the restoration teams have actualy done.

I love the story - it was one of the first I ever saw and greatly responsible for my future devotion to the show....I do hope UK Drama will go back to the Pertwee's as well

Which is why we get the horrible B&W version of The Daemons when it is shown rather that the marginally better colourised version.

Though to be fair this was the (then embryonic) Restoration Team's first project and was a great success at the time. The quality has come on leaps and bounds since then and I am looking forward to the DVD release of this.

I've aways had a soft spot for this story, mainly because it was the first one released on Video in about 1983! I remember hiring it from our local video store and playing to death in the 24hour rental period.

It does have that great Tom Baker line putting down the Cybermen -

I agree!

Actually it would've been better if they had decided to start from the very first episode (although, I did find a few of the early episodes boring as hell, like that one set in roman times, yawnsville or what!).

And is it true they will be missing out the Dalek episodes? If so, why?

Finally, why do they screen comedies on a "Drama" channel?
