Can I change default EPG settings on the RDR 970 ?

Recently bought a Sony RDR 970 and wanted to change the default settings so that it automatically starts recording each programme selected from the Digital Electronic Programme Guide screen at the scheduled start time and overruns each recording by say 10 minutes - this is to avoid any problems using the "Automatic EPG Mode" where the recorder may miss the start/end of programme signals. I have worked out how to do this for each programme individually but not set it up for all programmes by default.

I have done this on my 860 but don't know how to do this on the 970.

Note - I have updated the firmware to 1.65 (via Sony website download and confirmed it loaded correctly).
