Help!!

I've just taken delivery of the following:

Samsung PS50P96FD
Pioneer DCS-370 HTK

I have got surround sound whilst playing DVDs but cannot get either Sky or XBox to run through the home theatre speakers. Are the two products incompatible??

How have you connected your Sky box and Xbox to the system?

Yellow video cable from Home theatre system- side panel of TV
Scart from Sky - Ext 1 on TV
Xbox - Av on TV
Red/White Audio cables from TV-HTS

Looks like the system has only 1x audio input, presume this will analogue phonos. You will need to connect either the Sky box or the XBox via this method to get audio via the system.

You could get a 2/3 stereo switch box, this will allow you to connect both boxes at the same time, then just select the corresponding input on the switch box for which ever device you want the audio for.

Something like this........

Try...

HDMI Pioneer 370 > HDMI TV
Sky AV1 (RGB) > TV AV1 (RGB)
Sky/Xbox Audio output (Red/White Phonos) > Pioneer 370 Audio Input
XBox AV1/Component? > TV AV2/Component?

Alternatively for the audio side - Purchase a stereo switchbox as already mentioned, so you can connect both Sky and the XBox to the sound system which will allow you to manually switch between the two.

You should be getting video on all sources connecting that way, as for the audio from Sky/XBox, you will have to select something like 'AUX' on the surround system.
