It would be easy to pick only young people. It's harder to pick older people who would not be no-hopers and might be interesting.
I think the show benefits from having a spread of ages, but not if they are too old or unfit to have a chance.

The asked Alec Stewart for 2007 but he turned them down, then they'd have had the full set of Bowler, batsman, wicketkeeper. Sadly Geraint Jones was playing abroad, Chris Read was off with the ICL, Jack Russell was off with the commentary team and every other keeper in the country was either not well known enough or playing for England.
