LG or Toshiba - which one is best?
As there are some good deals to be had at the moment, I'm looking at buying a 32" LCD tv around £400 - £450 and had narrowed it down to a Toshiba 32C3035DB but the salesman in Richer Sounds said LG has a better picture so now thinking of LG 32LC56. Also considering Phillips 32PFL5522D and Sharp Aquos LC32RDE2E. Which is best? HELP!

I saw the Sharp Aquos at a friends the other day, thought the picture quality was pretty good for a LCD, I think they get pretty good reviews. |

John Lewis have the Phillips 32PFL5522D for £449 with free 5yr warranty/ delivery but now someone's thrown the Panasonic TX32LMD70 into the mix so I'm really confused.
which one is best on standard signal? PS. I don't watch footie but am into Superbikes, am I likely to get blurring ? |

Follow up.
Happened to go into my local Tesco superstore this afternoon, and discovered they had a whole wall of LCds all showing the same programme (a costume drama) presumably from the same source.
I was able to compare the Sharp, Phillips, Toshiba, and LG along with Sony and Techika 32's. Worst of all was the Sharp Aquos with horrendous noise on the picture, the Phillips also had noise problems but less so. LG was like soft focus, Toshiba also but less. Technika came in second best, almost as good as the Sony. Although the Sony was marginally better than the Technika, it wasn't enough to warrant the £150 price difference. I still want to see a Panasonic before I make my mind up but it's getting more urgent because my old B&O crt has started playing up again. Any feedback on Technika and Panasonic? |

Of the two, I would go for the Panasonic simply because it is liable to have been made by Panasonic rather than a re-badged generic (Vestel maybe?) - gives you half a chance in the future if something should go wrong (which I would also hope would be less likely than with a Technika)

Any feedback on Technika and Panasonic? ![]() What you don't want is an analogue RF feed, or a composite feed from something - you want either RGB or (less so) S-Video - the internal FreeView tuner will be connected as RGB. As for Technika vs. Panasonic - no contest! ![]() You don't even know who makes Technika, and how many Tesco's have service departments?. |

OK, thanks for the input. It looks like it's going to be Panasonic but I'm going to check the picture before I put down my hard earned.
Now I need to find the best deal - Richer Sounds have them for £549 inc 5 yr warranty. Does anyone know of a better price? |

However, this is no doubt partly down to the wholesale distribution of the picture to God-knows how many sets via an amplifier, and the fact that I don't suppose anyone bothers (or even knows how) to set each picture up to its best advantage. On a few occasions where they've left the remote hanging around, I've found that they've made no attempt to even switch them to RGB from Composite |

what i have noticed is that nowhere seems to show fast moving pictures , it is always slow arty stuff or wildlife stuff , try watching something fast moving on a cheaper set , then you will see why you need to spend money , as for the op's q, i had an lg and now have toshiba , leagues ahead in my opinion

i've got the lg 37lc2d and i couldn't be happier with it, my brother in law opted for the toshiba 37 model and now wishes he hadn't bothered after 2 days the thing refused to switch on then there were bad pixels in the screen.
i can't fault the picture on the lg at all and pumping sky hd through it makes it all worth while just my opinion though |
