Hi All,

On my phone, (Nokia 6300) when i usually send a text, i get a service message telling my my balance, this would make the phone ring so it was useful as a conformation message, now it just says sending and i get no conformation of my balance, ive tried texting friends but with no reply (That could just be them not replying!) I did text my self and i got the message, is it possible i have some how turned the feature off or something like that?

Thanks in advance

Marc

The only way to turn the balance alerts off is via Customer Services, so it's nothing you've done.

I would think the reason is either:

1) O2 have turned them off for everyone to try and ease the network congestion for this evening with everyone sending new year texts

2) They have decided to get rid of them all together!

I have been getting the same problem the day. It only tells me my call time balance when I phone soneone not after I have sent a text. It was a usfull service you are right. It a Sony Ericcsson im using on 02 pay and go. Its only a minor problem I think and as long as text is sending ok and you make and get calls thats fine. I toped my phone up with £10 this morning incass it will not top up in morning as I only had just over £3 in my phone. £10 top up usally lasts me over a week but at thois time of year £10 only lasts me a few days.
I got a feeling part of the network will jam for a few hours come 12am.

They are missing for me too. I think they got turned off last year on new years eve, to reduce the strain on the network caused by people texting.

Yep mine was the same - I thought it was a problem with my mobile but it's back to normal now. They must have turned it off to help with the traffic.
