As I'm a newbie when it comes to recordable dvd players can any other DMR-EZ27EB-owners help me out here?

1) Can this model be hacked?

2) If I wish to record digital programmes off the telly it seems I have to use DVD-RAM discs. True?

You need to hire a special remote to turn them region free.

You do not have to record with RAM disks you can record onto RWs or Rs as well.

Where would I hire this special remote?
