If it were £399 I'd go an buy it tomorrow, but it's coming up at £549 on their site.

Where did you get £399 from?

Wow £399 seems too good to be true for a Sony Bravia. How come this no name website can do it so much cheaper than others?

Anyone ever had any dealings with digital direct?

I know it's an old thread but I was searching the Sony KDL-26P3020.

I just wanted to say that Digitaldirect are excellent. I've had 2 TVs from them now. They phone an hour before expected delivery to make sure there's someone in.
They haven't folded, they are very much alive

PS. That model is £360.01 with them just now, but their prices on a lot of models drop daily.

i've got a 40" sony v3000. The colour i've never been able to get right and my old non digital tv had a much better picture.

will you be watching sky or virgin tv thru it??

if not be aware that that the freeview on the sony has a permanent banner that goes across the top of the programme every time you change channel (on all other tv's its usually at the bottom of the screen). It slices the heads of everything and is very intrusive and there is no facility to turn it off.

Oh thanks for that bit about the banner.
I have Sky in the room it would be in, but only FreeSat, so it would probably be obn Freeview all the time.

Is it there all the time, or just for a few seconds when you change channel?

I have a Toshiba that does that (temporarily). Can't remember if it's at the top or bottom of the screen though.

Read you post again. You did say permanent
Back to the drawing board.

sorry for the late reply:

every time you change channel an information bar comes across the top of the channel that has an automatic default of 5 seconds. If it is set to give information on the channel it fills just under a quarter of the top half of the screen. You can shrink it so that you just get the name of programme but still this is at the top of the screen and is about 5ins deep.

Had it been at the bottom it wouldn't have bothered me - its just being at the top it's been impossible for me to get used to it. Having sky installed as got rid of the problem for me.
