Kodak C613 camera problems

Hello!

I bought my girlfriend one of the Kodak C613 digital cameras a few months back from Dixons (or Currys.digital, whatever they call themselves now) and already its broken.

The button you press to take the photos has come out. NO problem I thought, I'll just put it back it. It went in but now it no longer presses so you can't actually take photos.

Now, she no longer has the box for it. She may still have the instruction book and all the other bits of paper that come with it, and I can't seem to find the receipt for it. I need to have a proper look around the house but there's probably a pretty high chance its in the bin.

What are my rights for getting it exchanged, fixed etc given that I don't have any of the paper work for it? Can I just go into Dixons, or should I send it back to Kodak? As I said, I only bought it a few months ago so its well within its 12 month retailer warranty.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Best bet is to go in and see if you're on the computer system. They can look up by date range, surname, postcode depending on how many details they took at purchase. Also a credit/debit card statement with Currys on it may be helpful proof.

If you can narrow it down to when you bought it then they should have no problem tracking you down. I doubt it is instant replacement (although having said that, it's under £129 so maybe). If you have to get it repaired, they will send it off - if the Tech Guys (or whoever are repairing it) decide it was caused by misuse then they'll probably ask you to pay for the repair. I'm not sure how much it costs, I wouldn't think it would be too expensive. At least it's not a screen - they start at £85.
