McDonalds Appreciation Thread
McDonalds seems to get a lot of hard critisism on DS.
So here's a thread for those who don't care about the additives, the mountains of salt, the 'rumours' and the reused scraps. Here's a thread for people who can see past all that and admit they love enjoying the odd Mickey D's. Usually when I go to a fast food joint I get the same thing over and over. But McDonalds just has so much variety I can get something different. Last time I went I got the festive burger with cheese and bacon (was very filling). Also the chicken legend is great. I love the deli meals, especially the meatball melts. Chicken nuggets are amazing and even better are the chicken selects. And of course you just cant beat the classic Big Mac. |

I love Big Macs. I weaned myself off McD's through most of 2007, then in December I overdosed on Big Macs.

They're ok, I eat one if there's nothing else to eat, but can't see why they're as popular as they are.

I don't use them very often, but occasionally have a craving for fries and fillet o fish or some onion rings etc, but the last time I went in one (and it wasn't busy) The food was cold, they missed part of my order (luckily I checked rather than driving off), the staff were miserable and unhelpful and ... that was it ! The food being cold was the killer though, they couldn't even reheat it properly
![]() That sort of killed it stone dead for me, not been back in the last 6 months or so, or had those cravings anymore ! I hear they're still popular with the likes of Joey Barton though!

I usually only have a burger maybe once a year, but when I do I always go for Burger King as I find they actually have a taste and not limp lettuce like Maccy D's burgers.
![]() I do like their strawberry milkshakes on a hot day though (my heart it stopping even thinking about them, but I do like them). |

I love McDonalds. Been my downfall in gaining a lot of weight I think over the past year. However, I've now discovered that I can still enjoy it as a weekly treat by having the Happy Meal! No laughing!
If I have the chicken nuggets meal, it's just over 400 cals, which isn't too bad and quite filling enough for me for a lunchtime. Only trouble was I used to keep getting the same guy serve me, and I say oh I don't want the toy, cos it's for me, so he gave me large fries instead! Defeating the object. So now I say nothing and give the toy to a friends little girl. ![]() I love the fries, I love the Choccie Milkshakes, the McFlurries, the Chicken Sandwich, The Fillet-o-Fish, the Cheeseburgers, and I used to love the Deli Roast Veggie Melt, and was gutted when the stopped doing it and did the yucky one covered in Chili sauce instead. I also used to love the Quorn burger, but they stopped doing that too, it's partly what stopped me being veggie anymore, cos it meant I had to turn to chicken! |

I used to like the big breakfasts, but the last time I went into McDonald's and had one, I found they'd stopped giving you the hash brown that went with it! I only got the muffin, scrambled egg and sausage patty.
Very disappointed, their hash browns are lovely but I resent paying extra for one. Big breakfasts arent that big anymore, certainly not at McDonalds in Middlesbrough. |

I love McDonalds but I gotta be honest I try my best to avoid them. I've really gotten into this whole thing of emulating their products.
My Sausage & Egg McMuffin is as good as theirs imo and my Cheeseburger is pretty damn good. I'm gonna have a go at making my own Big Mac and Special sauce soon; there's recipes all over the net so hopefully one is good. The one thing I hate about McDonald's is the limited edition burgers they do. I still remember this one I had back in the mid 90s called the 'Hollywood Melt'. It came with chilli fries that you shake the seasoning in the bag and I absolutely loved it. 10+ years later that burger still haunts me. Bring it Back! |

I've got a recipe if you want me to email it to you. I've not tried it personally - got it off someone else on the net - but I know some people who have and say it turned out the same as a McDonalds Big Mac. |

My guilty pleasure is a double sausage and egg mcmuffin, which I always enjoy. The rest of their menu doesn't do much for me though.

I used to go McDonalds regularly, but now I don't at all. My favourite has to be the bacon and egg mcmuffin, which I absolutely love, but I often can't be asked getting there by 11am.
