Even though I'm not a fan, I think INXS should have never continued without Michael Hutchence as do many other people. Do do think they should do the right thing and call it a day?

It's up to them isn't it? Why should they all have to give up on their lives just because the singer did?

They were really good at one time, but not so good by the time Hutchence died anyway. No worse now with J.R. Hartley (or whatever his name is) than they were then.

Even with MH I never understood the appeal of INXS.
The material I heard was bland to the extreme and instantly forgetable.
Another overated rock act.

I thought they were great around the time of "X". They were good live too.

Should they split up? Well, not if they still enjoy playing and can make money from it.

But I really liked MH's voice. and for me it was an essential part of their "sound". I don't think that can be replaced.

I agree that if they enjoy the band they should continue it, even after Michael's death.
But personally, I never cared for their music with or without Michael. I found their music sort of unimaginative, your basic corporate boring rock band. Every band has a sound, but a lot of their songs sound so similar to me.

Didn't he write a book about fly-fishing?

I watched the TV show where they picked their new singer (sad I know), and came to really like JD Fortune, he has a great personality and is a sexy, slick performer. Whether they should have carried on or not, I can't comment, but I do very much like the first album they brought out with JD as front man.

Both INXS and JD have parted company.

Hopefully the band will continue.

Good luck to JD. Met him a few times after some recent gigs - great bloke.

They should split up. That band never did anything for me. Ever.

Regardless of what you say, JD tried to be Michael Hutchence, and I saw him live and he was a copy cat all the way. It was wrong of INXS to continue...minus Hutchence because Hutchence for all intensive purposes....was INXS. The other members of INXS may be descent or somewhat good musicians but to be honest....INXS became famous because of Hutchence and once he hit MTV in the 80's....the band took off. He had charisma and a stage presence.

You listen to "Pretty Vegas" and you notice the guitar riff was borrowed from "The Devil Inside." There is nothing original in the new INXS. As far as JD goes...it's ashame as he could've had a good solo career...and for INXS to turn their backs on him since he has a drug problem...is pretty disturbing since in their autobiography....all of them did massive drugs for years.

At the end....Michael Hutchence was only on good terms with one member of INXS. He had stayed their frontman for 20 years...and could've left anytime to do a solo career but he wanted to try new things musically and his INXS bandmates thought he was out of touch. If you listen to the last CD's INXS put out...prior to Hutchence death....they are a mess musically. They had lost their musical direction and should've listened more to Hutchence. There was no need to continue this group other than the band members needed the money...so JD was used and thrown away.

Here is the last video Michael Hutchence did with INXS...he can't be replaced:
