It was mentioned in the summer that Jason Donovan was planning to release a new CD, and i noted that his tour is out on DVD with some new tracks.

Does anyone know if this has been canned or just delayed?

There should be something coming out later this year. He's on tour again in December too.

Got my tickets for December!

He hasn't got a record deal so no new album unfortunately. However, that might all change in the future you never know....

Thought the last single he had out was really good, would love to hear a new Jason album, his voice is much better than it was back in the late 80s/early 90s.

I thought he had got a new deal with a small label on the back of his jungle outing or was that just in my head? Or perhaps it was dependant on the success of the Best Of package that came out?

I think he must have some kind of download deal which is how his last single got a download release but I imagine if he had a deal with a proper company we'd have heard a new album by now.

Big things are expected from his new TV show Echo Beach, and I doubt he'd be touring again with no new material.

I don't think a lot of his audience know much about downloading, but they would buy an album on CD I'm sure.

Why on earth would his audience not know about downloading? He got most of his fans when he was at his pop peak, that wasn't in the 60s, it was 88-92, say his fans were kids/pre-teens then, they're only late 20s, early 30s now, hardly too old to know anything about downloading.

Well that seemed to be the general response on here, on his My Space and elsewhere when the song was released. Quite a few people said they liked it but didn't have a clue about downloading, or would prefer a CD.

His audience aren't that old at all, but I can't say I know many people my age who prefer downloads to CDs.

My missus would've bought the single if she'd have seen it in the shops but she knows nothing about downloading. I guess it's the same for a lot of his fans, if they went into a shop and saw the CD on the shelf they'd buy it.

Hmmn well I'm 32, and pretty much all my mates (28-34 age group) download, don't really know many people who buy CDs anymore apart from my parents and their friends. Maybe its just a different education, class or career I dunno. We are all university educated, many of us work in IT or Media.
