I'm practically giddy with excitement! I don't think he'll be the best, bless him, but I really do love him! And Kristina is just fabulous!

GO TEAM CANADA!!!

I wonder if the Canadian public have forgiven him for playing for Britain.

Just watched that vid - I didn't think Greg the weakest, but he needs some work, bless him.

He did attempt to lift Kristina, not all the males did that, so let's hope for better things.

I was a bit surprised to see only one celebrity name supporting him - where on earth are the British tennis players?

Well, the Murray brothers are in Qatar (or Australia by now!!) Tim has no excuses though

It also looks like Andrew Castle has flown over to Australia to the commentating for BBC. On itv website they said some surprising names would be coming out to support him.

Well I don't think they ever shared a pie and a pint did they?

Good - I suppose realistically in the British tennis world only Tim, Greg and Andy are household names.

Perhaps Johnny Mac could be persuaded to put in a word for him

well Andrew Castle does do the GMTV presenting and he does do the Wimbeldon commentating and i'm sure they've shown pics of Castle, Lloyd, Barker in their playing days. I'm kinda surprised that Greg is doing this as he has been saying that he is going to be involved in recruiting young tennis players, so was surprised but incredibly pleased when i heard he was going do DOI. I don't know if he wants to get a career out of it at the end of it and launch himself into the media spotlight.

I think their weddings are a week apart as well. also they've been on the same Davis Cup team for god knows how many years.

Tim and Greg get on just fine. They were Davis Cup team members together for years and have always supported each other in interviews.

The tennis world will undoubtedly be supporting Greg but very few of them stay in Europe during our winter. Greg's former colleages therefore may not be available for appearances on an ITV reality TV show! However, I hope that we will get some VTs from his more famous supporters once the show has started.

BTW having read back through this thread I am so traumatised at the thought of Tim Henman trying to be sexy in lycra and sequins on SCD that I now have to lie down - and not in a good way!

All true, but I reckon one comment from Johnny Mac would be worth one comment from all 3 of them

Tim in lycra - the mind boggles, but Darren Gough hated the idea as did Ramps so who knows

Thought you'd guys like to see the photo that made me think that Greg was attractive. http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/71975...C3F87336C851A1 It was taken during the Davis Cup tie against Ukraine in September 2006.

Are you angling for the sympathy vote for Greg

“It was quite funny that the last tournament I ever played was a challenger before the Davis Cup tie in Sarajevo and they held it in the ice rink that Torvill and Dean won their Olympic Gold in. So it’s quite funny that I’m doing this programme now, it’s a little bit of irony and if you’d have asked me a year ago, I never would have expected to be doing this."
This is a nice quote from Greg from the ITV press release.

Am so looking forward to this - I met Greg several years ago at a Davis Cup match, and he was so charming, a really lovely man. Hope he does well

I have always been fond of Greg, and Kristina is my favourite female skater. I'm so excited about this series.

Has Greg any ice hockey experience? I know that it's not very similar, but it would surely give him confidence on the ice.

Fancy seeing you in here, c4k!

I'm definitely going to be supporting Greg. I'm a big tennis fan and loved watching Greg play for his personality and the 'big heart' he always showed in matches. Plus he's been paired up with my favourite of the professional skaters.

All the hype over Hamster, sorry, Tiger Tim.

Yet it was RUSEDSKI who was the Brit who got to a Grand Slam final (in 1997).And it was Greg who got the press pasting for not being 'really British', despite British parentage....

Yeh I will be rooting for Greg ,out of the line up he is my fav
Also glad he is with Kristina , felt sorry for her last year being partnered with Stephan Gately as he was to small to do the lifts. I dont think Greg will have that problem
