Spice Girls 02 arena Jan 2nd
I went to this last night and I just wanted to say that it was worth every penny. I have read some articles today and it has been slated. I dont know which concert they was at because everyone who was seemed to be enjoying themselves. Posh even proved that she can sing, even if she does struggle a little. Everyone in the arena was singing along to every song, they provided us with an excellent show even if some people are dead set on them failing.

I went to see them last night with a friend...we went on a nostalgia trip (we were 13 when the SGs first formed), and it was great fun. Although we were at the back on the lower tier, we had a good view of the whole arena and the sound quality mostly held up well.
I've only ever been a causal fan of the Spice Girls and even then, I don't think I'd been a fan since I was a teenager...until I saw them yesterday. I know they are quite hated on DS, but imho they're good at what they do. They're pop stars, and they know this and they're proud of it. Their music is inoffensive fluff that's created to entertain people and that's all...I don't think they've ever claimed to be complex so I don't understand a lot of the bashing that the girls get. Anyway, I thought they were fantastic last night. IMHO, Geri and Mel C carried the show. Geri especially impressed me; she was sensational and owned that stage, and until last night she wasn't my favourite Spice Girl. Now, my favourites are Geri and Mel C where as before they were Victoria and Emma. Mel B was also very good. If there was a weak link, it was Victoria, who did look a little uncomfortable, compared to the other four who looked like they were genuinely enjoying themselves. Still, whenever Victoria did sing the crowd went crazy and gave her a lot of encouragement. It was a great concert. I'm glad I stayed for the Encore because the atmosphere went nuts when they began "Wannabe". It was worth the money, for those of us who like innocent, fun pop. |

I'm going next week and I can't wait!
I've read a lot of bad stuff about it, but it's all from people who don't like SG anyway, so it's good to hear feedback from people who do! |

I wouldn't take any notice of reviews, it's only one person's opinion and 90% of the time, it's usually done by a fan of a completely different genre of music anyway. If the majority of the 02 enjoyed the show and were happy, that's all that matters isn't it?

I was there last night too and the most exciting bit was when all three of the Beckham boys took their seats in the front row with their Granny and Grandpa followed shortly after by David.
I'm sure my friend missed most of the show rubbernecking at them instead of watching the stage! Still it was a great night. Fair enough the girls may not be the best singers or dancers but they really know how to put on a show. |

I think there might have been a couple of more minor celebrities in the lower tier level at some stage pre-show because people went a bit crazy at one point taking pictures and shrieking there as well, but again, I was too far away to see who it was. |

I went on the 2nd as well (mr beckham was there as well!!) and thought it was brilliant.
Suprisingly, my highlights included the solo stuff, geris 'its raining men' and emmas 'maybe' were great. I loved the fact that Posh got such loud screams every time she sang a line, that was so funny. |

My highlights were It's Raining Men, Who Do You Think You Are, The Lady Is A Tramp, Stop, Wannabe and I Turn To You. It was really good fun, was great to sing and dance along with the girls and fellow fans.
Doesn't top the Madonna gig I saw last year, but for what it was it was still brilliant. |

Ah! So that was David Beckham that the crowd below were going nutty for before the show? I wondered, because I could see everyone taking pictures like crazy and hear them screaming, but I was too high up to see who was causing all the rukus. I thought it might be David, glad to get confirmation so I can stop scratching my head over it.
I think there might have been a couple of more minor celebrities in the lower tier level at some stage pre-show because people went a bit crazy at one point taking pictures and shrieking there as well, but again, I was too far away to see who it was. It was actually the 3 kids that everyone was going mad for before the show. Beckham only went out when the lights went down so the majority didn't notice him. One of the boys (Romeo I think) was dancing and waving at the crowd but when the show started they all seemed to sit down throughout. I was in the lower tier level and saw loads of people taking pictures of someone just to the right and in front of me but I couldn't see who it was. |

That's the one. I loved it so much I got the title wrong. D'oh.
![]() I've decided that seeing as I have about £100-ish left from my Christmas money.. I'm going to see if I can get some tickets off eBay for the last Manchester gig. I'll go on my own if I have to. I have to see them! |

that other person people were going mad for was George Michael. He got up and left (with his minders) about 3 or 4 songs before the end..

People were going crazy for the Beckham kids even before David arrived.
Loved the show...and the arena (my first time there) the seats are actually comfy and the view (tier 101) was really good. Was so much fun, if only for the nostalgia trip... |

Capital Radio giving away tickets all this weekend, saying the shows are completely sold out,but if you look on Ticketmaster now there are single seats available for nearly every show!
