As a way of getting in to it and not struggling too much, I recommend ignoring the arms completely until you've got the feet right. Stick your hands on your hips or something and concentrate on the feet.

Also, in all the routines they do the thing of doing a step/move/sequence a couple of times at a slow speed, and then repeat it twice at double speed. If this is hard (and it really is in the cha cha sequence) then ignore that and do the slow version once instead for every two times they do the fast one. Also, in most of the routines there is a basic step that you can come back to if you lose the flow/forget where you are/get lost - Karen keeps reminding you about it in the jive routine, but you can do the same thing in the other routines too.

Buying this DVD in the first place for me was probably insane and irrational optimism. Erin and Karen probably weigh the same as my arm.

However, even though I got myself in a right pickle with the steps on the first run through, it was, if nothing else, fun. It worked up a sweat so must have done some good.

I'm glad I bought it and will keep using it.

I had the Strictly Come Dancercise DVD at Christmas and I think it's fab. I agree that some of the moves are tricky at first. But I've just focused on one dance at a time working on the footwork first, then adding in the arms. It also helps to pause the DVD and practice a few of the moves on your own or go through the whole section a few times before trying to do the actual dance.

I ordered it from Amazon - cant wait to try it. I don't have much dance experience, not this kind anyway so i'll pop back and let you know how I get on.
