As a way of getting in to it and not struggling too much, I recommend ignoring the arms completely until you've got the feet right. Stick your hands on your hips or something and concentrate on the feet.
Also, in all the routines they do the thing of doing a step/move/sequence a couple of times at a slow speed, and then repeat it twice at double speed. If this is hard (and it really is in the cha cha sequence) then ignore that and do the slow version once instead for every two times they do the fast one. Also, in most of the routines there is a basic step that you can come back to if you lose the flow/forget where you are/get lost - Karen keeps reminding you about it in the jive routine, but you can do the same thing in the other routines too.
