Changing K800i Menu Icons
pad_ehh

The phone is o2 branded and the top two menu icons are both for "O2 Home" which is annoying as its pointless having two icons for the same thing beside eachother, and I never use the internet on the phone, so they are 2 icons wasting space!. Is there any way to change it to something else? Does this involve de-branding the phone? Is it easy to do?

If I remember, you can do this by changing the Theme.

No that will just change the shape of the icons not the use of them.

No, that's not right - It does not change any icons.

Also wrong - Sony Ericsson icons can only be changed by editing the firmware.

Well, I just tried it and it works for me. I can either have O2 icons, O2 and Sony Ericsson Internet Services, or PlayNow and Internet Services depending on the Theme. All go to different places.

You just need to get hold of some themes and experiment until you find one you like. There are some really good ones that change the way the menu works as well as how it looks.

Mine was an Orange branded handset, and I de-branded it, using Davinci Team software and a credit (10€ or just over £7), then once de-branded with generic firmware, I used the Sony Ericsson Update software to update to the latest version.
