Thanks for the news about Amy.

It would be great if Amy did a web site. It's pretty easy to set up a blog at one of the free blog sites, and to put up pictures and so on.

BIG NEWS!!

Amy's website is live at:

http://www.amy4art.com

Some links are broken at the moment but there's plenty there all the same.
If you do email her, please be polite and don't expect a quick reply - she still has a hard month of work ahead.

That photo supposedly of Amy on the bus was not her after all. She must've been pretty confused! Amy is, of course, much prettier than that.

Cheers Kes

Really interesting write up of her time on BB on there.

LOL it wasn't her on the bus

Thanks. It did look like her in the picture on the bus, must be her lookalike.

I found some info about the exhibition in Italy and what Amy is doing in it - http://www.arteinsabina.it/eng/ruskin-eng.htm

Very interesting site, & use of hyperlinks, & some parts make me . For ex.:

Quote:
“I studied at Leeds Girls’ School since I passed the entrance exam when I was three. How a three year old sits an exam I have no idea, but after identifying the colour blue correctly I was in and I stayed there until leaving in 2004 at 18 with my A Levels.”

&
Quote:
“After removing every letter ‘a’ from a free newspaper I managed to get hold of an antique bound year of The Times newspaper from 1878. I had been writing a lot about chance and for this particular project I disregarded the system of removing the letter ‘a’. Instead in this edition random circles of varying proportions were cut from every page. There were 57, 237 holes cut in total, a valuable antique was defaced, history and memory removed.”

lol. I like that, a lot.

She doesn't just cut out the 'a's or the circles. The cut papers are used to make photographs in which the papers are shapes letting through random or patterned light, as in the photo on her site's home page.

I also especially like Traces of Fragments which includes the Ox Univ Press bookshop picture.

I like it that you have to wander to find some things, such as what else was done w/ the circles from the times.

Cool website.

Thanks for the link, Kes!

It's now clear that cleaning is not the largest part of her art work.

Thank you Kes,

I am glad Amy is doing so well.

There is an article in The Times about Amy's artwork that involves working with old copies of the newspaper. It also says she was awarded a first-class degree so congrats to her...

Writing to send love and light to all and say a special thanks to those who have supported me in finding my way to this thread (you know who you are). I hope we'll continue to talk and will wait for advice from the stars about how best to do this.
I need to study and learn more and am thankful for all the help you've given me in my studies so far. Special thanks for my web page - it is the most beautiful gift I have ever received and I will cherish it for the rest of my life.

platinumdelight, it is nice of you to bump Amy's thread but I'm not sure that you're in the right forum.

BTW Amy's looking to sell her degree show piece. If anyone has a truck/van and a place to put a large walled construction made of newspaper bricks (and spare cash) - please contact her via her website.

I thought I'd bump this thread because it's been far too long since the previous post.

I want to let all you Amy fans know that I sent her an email a few months ago, and she replied! What a sweetheart. I won't quote any of her reply (I'll keep it confidential), but the following is extracted from my email to her:-

... I feel very privileged to be able to write to you and tell you that you were by far my favourite BBCH house mate. In fact, you're among my favourite BB house mates of all time ... I'm liking Rachel so far from BB9. Make of that what you will!

Why do I like you so much? To sum it up, I think you helped enormously to restore the reputation of women on BB and on reality TV generally. You came across as very emotionally mature, highly intelligent, witty and fair (you were particularly brilliant in the SAS task). Unlike many who've gone before you, you never acted like a spoilt little girl, scream or bitch. Although you're very attractive, you didn't seem aware of it and didn't flirt with your male house mates (not that there's anything wrong with a bit a harmless flirtation!). In fact, I don't think you put a foot wrong. Well done you! If there was any justice, you'd have won BBCH, with John in second place.

I was a regular visitor to the Digital Spy forums during and after your appearance on the show and was pleased to see that you have many fans who share my views. Unfortunately, I noticed some comments about you that were less than kind (I know you're aware of this, otherwise I wouldn't mention it), but there were always those who came to your defence. The reason I bring this up is to express my belief that these people were simply jealous of you because they don't possess your positive attributes. I guess they relate more to the type of woman who is, in my opinion, an embarrassment to the female sex (I'm not referring to any of your fellow house mates, by the way). They were too cynical to see that there was no hidden agenda with you and too stupid to realise your ability to show women in a positive light and more than a match for men in terms of intelligence, humour and level-headedness. Some even disliked you simply because they saw some physical resemblance to Heather Mills ... Maybe you seemed too good to be true, so they wanted to pull you down. Well, their cynicism didn't wash with me or anyone else who supported you on the forums. Amy Jackson fans are discerning and intelligent - even if I say it myself! We know that what we saw was the real you - no doubt at all.

It would be great to see you on TV again. I think you'd make an excellent presenter (of an arts show?), for example. However, if future TV appearances aren't for you, that's our loss not yours.

A reply would be fantastic, but I won't expect one. More importantly, I hope you get to read my message and that it makes you feel (even more) proud of your achievements.

Very best wishes ...

I was thrilled to receive quite a long reply, in which she was very humble. My opinion of her would have remained high if she hadn't replied, but it was even higher after that.

I liked Jeremy and Emilia (who get a lot of appreciation support), but I think Amy deserves more recognition. Come on Amy fans - keep her appreciation thread on the front page!

Amy is an absolute sweetheart. I haven't heard from her in a while, but she's still in my thoughts.

She was a great housemate. Celebrity Hijack had such a good mix that I think CBB is going to end up being a disappointment in comparison.

Perhaps the highlight of Celebrity Hijack for me was the SAS task. Amy displayed calmness, awareness and determination; qualities that made her the clear winner of that task.

If there had been any justice whatsoever; Amy should have been the outright winner on finale night!
